Seniors Group Visits Longwood Gardens… The Elderberries and Elderberry-want-to-be’s went to Longwood Gardens on Friday, May 29. “Oldies but Goodies” The Elderberries (our “seniors” fellowship group) have compiled a cookbook of some of our favorite recipes from the past. Our families and friends have enjoyed them for years, and they are the highlights of many a covered dish supper or family gathering. The cookbook will be available for a donation, and the proceeds will go towards the payment of our shared ministries obligation. John and Dasia Abramovich are missionaries in Poland, using their gifts to teach the Bible to children and youth.  John grew up near Pitman, and Dasia is from Poland.  John and Dasia are both very familiar to PUMC as they have visited us and taught Bible studies during their recent “furloughs” in the States.  They recently sent the following update message…        Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. Second Grade Sunday School Class Does First Class Act! (5/3/15)

Clothe the Naked, Feed the Hungry… As a mission project for Lent, the First, Second, and Third Graders of our Sunday school class collected canned goods and donated them to the Angels of God.  Angels of God is ministry in Pitman providing clothing and food to the needy. On Sunday May 10, the Hooks and Needles for God group filled the altar rail with a colorful and soft array of blankets.  Hooks and Needles makes these blankets to be given to people in times of special need; illness, births, or just when someone needs to know that the church is surrounding them in prayer. BLAST Sends a Response to Trinity UMC’s Food Challenge (5/3/15)

The Trinity UM Church in Clayton challenged our youth group (BLAST) to raise 400 lbs of food for the Pitman Food Pantry.  It was to be collected in 4 months. Here’s the post about The Challenge.
