Youth Groups

Youth Group

The name “Youth Group” might sound kinda plain on the surface, but there’s so much behind our “Youth Group programs.”  Mix a group of friends with inspired and energetic leaders, and you’ve got something special!  We’re actively engaging with three goals:

  1. Mission.  We serve meals to the homeless, help with the Pitman Pantry, and do what we can to make a difference in the lives of the people around us.

  2. Learning.    Christian growth takes some time and effort (Paul told the Philippians to “Work out your salvation with fear and trembling…”).  And so we have Bible Studies, go on retreats, and do other things to help us grow as a group and as individuals in our faith.

  3. Fun!   And, we get together to just have fun.  We kayak, swim, and maybe even throw some snowballs!  And- we always take any opportunity to enjoy a (un)healthy dose of snacks along the way!

Because of the current pandemic, we are temporarily unable to enjoy our normal series of weekly “Live” meetings.  However, we are currently using both Zoom (to meet virtually) and “Social Distancing” (to meet face to face). Here’s the current Sunday schedule (effective 9/20/20):

  • Evenly Numbered Sundays:  2:00 – 4:00 PM In Person meetings                                                     (at the Liguoris)
  • Odd Numbered Sundays:      2:00 PM virtual meetings (via Zoom)

All Youth are welcome!  For details on the In Person meetings or to join in on the Zoom meetings, contact our Youth Leader Kate Dilks-Bird. Send an email to:   For the latest updates, click the “News” button on the bottom of this page…

Some thoughts about this pandemic:

It’s April of 2020, and the wave of the Covid-19 virus has taken over our lives. In the midst of this pandemic, our building is closed, we’re “hunkering down” in our homes, and we’re practicing “social distancing” when we do venture outside. However, the writer of Hebrews reminded us that Christians weren’t built to do things on their own: “Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another — and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” Hebrews 10:25.

We need each other and we are all in this together.

Havin’ a Blast…

As you browse through this website, you’ll probably notice that name BLAST.  That’s because our Youth Group is always having a “Big Loud Awesome Spiritual Time”!   Here are some pictures our Youth Group having a “Blast”…

Wherever the Youth go on a trip away from our church, parents are kept in the loop by requiring a permission slip.
