We’ll have a chance to catch up with them on Sunday April 15 (both services).  Jim and Alice will report on what they’ve been doing and to witness to what the Lord has been doing through them.  After serving on the mission...

Daffodils and Diapers Help Sick and Needy (3/25/18)

The day was Palm Sunday; a special sabbath for celebrating the arrival of our King and Savior into Jerusalem. But like any other opportunity when we gather, it was also a time to reach out and help the needy.  Palm Branches helped us worship, but Daffodils and Diapers helped us to help others.   Daffodils Each year at this time, we sell pots of daffodils.  These yellow flowers do more than to just brighten up our springtime homes;  the proceeds go to the the American Cancer society to...

Remembering Missionary John Enright (12/26/17)

Long time PUMC’ers probably remember supporting Ken and Loraine Enright during the 1980s (and beyond).  The Enrights were missionaries in Africa, using their airplanes to bring medicine and the Gospel to remote areas in Zaire and the other African countries they ministered to over the years. Ken and Loraine have both passed away, but their son John took up the mantel. Unfortunately, we recently lost John when he was killed in an automobile accident on the day after Christmas (2017).  His...

What is UMCOR Day? (3/26/17)

There’s an earthquake… there’s a drought…. there’s a Tsunami…  there’s an epidemic… What do we do when terrible things happen to people?  Do we just sit by and say “Oh, that’s such a shame.”  Or do we actually do something to relieve the suffering?
