John and Dasia Abromovich are missionaries in Poland who PUMC has supported for many years. They officially retired in December of 2023, but they visited PUMC on a sunny morning in October 2024 to thank us for our support and to share what they’re doing in their “retirement.” It seems that Pastors and Missionaries never really retire!
Before their retirement, John and Dasia were part of Bible Centered Mission’s mission of making disciples of Jesus Christ by equipping and strengthening churches in Poland. They were also instrumental in a Polish Christian Association dedicated to teaching children and providing resources which helped other Christians to work among children.
After their retirement, they are still dedicated to “equipping and strengthening churches” and to “providing resources to help other Christians to work with children.” In other words, they may have retired from their “organizations”, but they have not retired from ministry.
Thanks, but There’s More to Do!
In October 2024, John and Dasia visited PUMC’s Sunday morning Worship Service. Pastor Mike introduced Dasia (oops!), and John came to the pulpit. On behalf of himself and his wife, John thanked PUMC for our support over the years, and asked for continued support and prayers in the coming years. Despite their “retirement”, John and Dasia are still involved in sharing God’s love by doing things such as:
- Directing Summer Camps for young people with special needs
- Teaching home Bible Studies
- Preaching in local churches which don’t have a full time pastor
- Organizing humanitarian aid
Thank You John and Dasia!
The Abramoviches have been part of our PUMC family in many ways over the years. We have worshipped and studied together, helped to fund their ministries, and we continue to be in prayer for this special couple and their work in Poland.
