On Saturday April 4, our Fellowship was filled with the buzz of anticipation! Easter- the resurrection of our Lord Jesus- was approaching. Our United Methodist Men’s Fellowship held our annual retreat during the weekend of March 13-15.  For the past 14 years we have consistently held an annual retreat, and like the previous 13 retreats, we held this year’s retreat at the Black Rock Retreat Center in Quarryille PA (Lancaster County).  About 20 of us traveled to Black Rock and spent the weekend in a time of serious reflection, prayer, worship, and- well- fun. Last summer, the “Ice Bucket” challenge raised milllions of dollars to fight ALS.  In the same Spirit,  former PUMC Associate Pastor Peter Jamieson (who is now the Pastor at Asbury UMC in Egg Harbor) has been challenging area churches (and even the bishop) to raise 250 pounds of food to be donated to a local  food pantry. Yes it is Winter!  This evening’s (Sunday 3/1) Youth Council meeting and BLAST (our youth fellowship) were postponed due to the ice storm.  Both events will be held NEXT week (Sunday March 8).
