As part of Fire Prevention Week, a big red fire truck pulled up to our church. Yes, our church does have a sensitive spot for fire trucks, but no- this wasn’t an emergency.  Instead, the volunteer firefighters from Pitman’s Highland Fire Company were on hand to teach the kids about fire prevention and to show them how they fight fires.                 The kids had a chance to check out the truck and even to try on a raincoat…  ...

Breakfast Buffet and Yard Sale (10/25/14)

Our Fellowship Hall will be a busy place on Saturday (October 25)!  We’re throwing two events to benefit our mission efforts for a church in La Palmilla Mexico…  Breakfast Buffet (8-11AM)… The United Methodist Men’s Fellowship group will hold one of our “Famous” Breakfast Buffets from 8:00 AM to 11:00AM. Come Fly With Us! The Elderberries (our Seniors fellowship group) will visit  the Wildwood Naval Air Museum on FRIDAY,  OCTOBER 17th. We will be leaving the church at 9:30AM, and plan to stop at the Maurice River Diner for a late lunch or early dinner on the way home. Annual CROP Walk to Fight Local and Global Hunger (10/19/14)

  The 34th annual Pitman – Glassboro CROP Walk will be held on Sunday October 19 (rain or shine), starting at 2PM. This ecumenical  Walk is organized by several churches in Pitman and Glassboro.  Participating are 7 churches from Pitman and 4 from Glassboro.  Walkers line up sponsors who pledge either on a per mile basis, or who simply pledge a fixed amount for each walker they sponsor.  Two routes are available (one mile or five miles). During our services, we always have a “Meet and Greet” time where you can wander around the sanctuary and shake the hand of someone you haven’t met before or to catch up with a friend you haven’t sen in a while.  Our church is growing, and a few minutes of Meet and Greet during the service isn’t enough to kindle relationships.
