For years, our church (along with several other local UMC churches) has been supporting a United Methodist Church in La Palmilla, Mexico. This growing congregation has been struggling to build a new sanctuary that will enable them to further their ministries in this poor region of Mexico. Later this year, a missions team will travel to Mexico to assist in their construction efforts. We always hear about UMCOR- The United Methodist Committee on Relief. When there is a tragedy in the world, they quickly jump into achtion and organize funding and relief. All of this important work is done without siphoning any funding from the donations in order to pay for overhead costs.
