It’s called the “30 Hour Famine.” Our Youth Group (Big Loud Awesome Spiritual Time) participates in it every year, but this goes beyond a simple fast. In addition to taking some time for spiritual reflection, we’re also going to make a difference for
people who have no choice between eating and not eating. And as part of that reflection, we’re also going to improve the reflection of the cars in our community!
On Saturday May 20 (between the hours of 1:00 – 3:00 PM), we’re going to run a car wash in our parking lot. Pull up along the church and treat your car to a much needed bath. There is no charge for the car wash, but you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to our weekend’s battle with hunger. Proceeds from the car wash will benefit World Vision’s 30-Hour Famine.

In 30 Hours, We CAN Make a Difference!
Before the Car Wash, we’re going to spend our morning by visiting the community to pick up any canned food donations which will help stock the Pitman Food Pantry. We’ll be out and about from 10:00 AM – Noon. And, if you didn’t receive one of our door bags, feel free to donate some items at the car wash. We’re collecting items such as:
- Cereal
- Canned Vegetables
- Fruit
- Soup
- Peanut Butter and Jelly
- Boxed Pasta, Mac & Cheese
- Ramen,
- Pasta Sauce
Inside the below drop box is the flyer that was distributed around the neighborhood for this food collection. If you didn’t get one on YOUR door, check it out and help us stock the pantry by bringing a can or two to the car wash!
