Our preschool,Our Father’s House, teaches more than “Readin’, Writing, and ‘Rithmatic.” We also teach how to grow in the grace and love of God.
Every month, we have taken on a different mission project. In April, we collected and donated $500 to Heifer International.
What is Heifer International?

The animals purchased don’t just provide a reliable source of food, but also a reliable source of income. Extra agricultural products, such as milk from cows or goats, honey from bees or eggs from chickens, can be both shared within the community and sold at market. This new income, coupled with the training in sustainable practices that Heifer International provides, allows others to clothe their families, provide them with medical care and send their children to school. When not just one but many families gain this new sustainable produce and income, it brings new opportunities for building schools, creating agricultural co-ops, and forming community savings and loan groups to help fund entrepreneurial start-ups.
It’s a lofty goal, but it is happening! In communities around the world, Heifer International is helping people lift themselves from hunger and poverty.
Here’s Where the Money Went…
The children enjoyed learning about the different animals and the different ways that they can help children in third world countries. Money has been collected and voting has been done. Collectively, as a school, we collected a total of $500!! That is FANTASTIC!! Our Father’s House Preschool DOES make a difference in the world!! Below is what the children voted to purchase and donate with this money collected:
- One Share of a Heifer – $50
- Two Shares of a Goat – $20
- Two Shares of a Sheep – $20
- One Share of a Pig – $10
- Two Bundles of Tree Seedlings @ $60 each – $120
- One Share of Tree Seedlings – $10
- Two Trios of Rabbits @ $60 each – $120

Mission Project for May
Our last Mission Project for this school year will once again be collecting boxed cereals for the food pantry.
The pantry gives away many boxes of cereal each week. This is a staple for many families. We appreciate any boxes of cereal that you can bring in during this month. Again, thank you for your help!
