“Greeting cards have all been sent… the Christmas rush is through…”
The Christmas preparations and celebrations will be over… and we’ll be resting up from all of the activity. The last Sunday of the year will have a different feel at PUMC. Instead of our usual two-service schedule at 9:30 and 11:00, we’ll hold a single service at 10:15 AM.
~ Sunday, December 27 ~
9:30 AM: Continental Breakfast goodies in Fellowship Hall
10:15 AM: Single Combined Worship Service
10:15 AM: Sunday School
(Our regular 9:30/11:00 schedule will resume the next Sunday- January 3)
The service will focus on the carols of the season. It will be a laid back family time of celebrating the gift of Jesus…
- Scripture Reading: Psalm 22:27 & Revelation 14:6-7
- Sermon in Song: Christmas Around the World
Psalm 22:27
22 I will proclaim your name to my brothers and sisters. I will praise you among your assembled people.
23 Praise the Lord, all you who fear him! Honor him, all you descendants of Jacob! Show him reverence, all you descendants of Israel!
24 For he has not ignored or belittled the suffering of the needy. He has not turned his back on them, but has listened to their cries for help.
25 I will praise you in the great assembly. I will fulfill my vows in the presence of those who worship you.
26 The poor will eat and be satisfied. All who seek the Lord will praise him. Their hearts will rejoice with everlasting joy.
27 The whole earth will acknowledge the Lord and return to him. All the families of the nations will bow down before him.
Revelation 14:6-7
6 And I saw another angel flying through the sky, carrying the eternal Good News to proclaim to the people who belong to this world—to every nation, tribe, language, and people.
7 “Fear God,” he shouted. “Give glory to him. For the time has come when he will sit as judge. Worship him who made the heavens, the earth, the sea, and all the springs of water.”
