Tuesdays Return to PUMC! (9/16/14)

OK.  Tuesdays did actually continue through the summer, but our Tuesday Bible Study / Dinner took a break.

The Tuesday series resumed this week, Tuesday Sept. 16.  A  lot of good things happened:

 Before Dinner

• At 9:30 AM Pastor Jim led a study on the opening parts of John 3.  Yep- that’s where “John 3:16” comes from (you may have seen it on a sign at a sporting event!).  Anyway, we learned that there is a difference between the “Natural World” (being born of water) and the “Spiritual World” (being born of the Holy Spirit).  The study dovetails with the sermon series Pastor Jim is beginning as we look at Jesus the Messiah.
• At the “Early Bird” study at 5:00 PM, Pastor Glenn Chaplin began a video series entitled, “What is Heaven Like?”  This series will continue for 7 weeks.

Dinner!!!

• We had a delicious dinner of pork chops, pasta,and zucchini.  The dinner was well-attended, which meant that there were a lot of good deserts!

 After Dinner

• The Good News  Club (grades K thru 5) began their series of “God Our Creator-King.”
• The Youth began a study of the book of Philippians.
• The “Endurance ” Small Group began their study of Adam Hamilton’s book, “Making Sense of the Bible.”
• Pastor Jim conducted his study of John 3 with the “post dinner” adults.
