On Friday January 26, the Red Cross will hold a Blood Drive in our Fellowship Hall from 1:00-6:00 PM.
Walk-ins are welcome, but you can visit the American Red Cross website to schedule a time.
(Scroll down for the link and instructions)…
The donation changes throughout the day, so please check their schedule to confirm eligibility. During some hours they will collect “blood”. During others, they will collect “Power Red.”
Here’s how these are defined (on the Red Cross website):
- Blood:
The most common type of donation, during which approximately a pint of ‘whole blood’ is given. This type of blood donation usually takes about an hour. - Power Red:
A Power Red donation collects the red cells but returns most of the plasma and platelets to the donor. These donors must meet specific eligibility requirements and have type A Neg, B Neg, or O blood.
