During the summer, the Grove Auditorium in the center of our town (in what’s known as the Pitman Grove) hosts the annual Pitman Camp Meeting. On any of these warm summer evenings, the auditorium is alive with the sounds of music.
But on this chilly afternoon in November, the Grove was thronged with Mounds of Leaves. So our Men’s Fellowship group took on the task of raking up these leaves and cleaning up the area, as part of Pitman’s Clean Communities.
We earned some money that will help fund our upcoming retreat, and we made our town just a bit more beautiful.
