Chasing Fake Rabbits (6/12/16)

What are you chasing in this life? What’s important to you? And if you catch what you’re looking for… will it be worth it? Pastor Jim provided some insight into these questions by looking at the story of “Farmer Bigger-Barns” from Luke 12. This sermon was given on June 12 at the 11:00 AM service.

Life After the Born-Again Birth (6/5/16)

There is life after death, and so it’s critically important to prepare for that life. To enter that life, we must be forgiven and to be “in Christ”… in other words, we must be Born Again. But what happens between that salvation experience and eternity? Is there life after birth???

Pastor’s Ponderings: Up Above the World so Bright

God continues whispering in our ears, “Don’t quit…keep on playing.” Even when it seems life is bringing us flat or sour notes, God is coming alongside to assist us in making His music. God will add to our best efforts and the result will be amazing. With God reaching around and encircling us, together, beautiful music can be made!

A Zoad, a Fork, and a Choice (5/22/16)

A Zoad? How does a Dr. Seuss character improve our own character; help us to walk in deeper faith? If we’re going to get anywhere, we need to make a choice; step out in faith and commit to obeying God.

Powerfilled Christianity (5/15/16)

Tongues of fire…. speaking in “different tongues,” supposedly drunk apostles! Pentecost- we’ve heard the story so many times. But what does it all mean? Is it relevant to us? What does the coming of the Holy Spirit mean to us in our day and age?

Greater NJ Annual Conference Set to… Conference (5/22/16)

We United Methodists operate in an environment of what we call The Connection; we’re not alone.  Together with other United Methodists we can pole our resources and accomplish much more for the building of God’s Kingdom than we could on our own. PUMC Enters a Construction Zone!

Roads are great… we use them all the time! But that’s part of the problem.  After years of rain, ice, snow, salt, and plowing, roads wear out.  They get pot holes.  The sidewalks become… unwalkable. Unfortunately, that also applies to the roads surrounding our church.  Our church building is located on the corner of Lambs Road (county road 635) and Broadway (County road 553A), and both roads are now undergoing serious work.   The Plan… Broadway and Lambs are county roads, and they’re maintained by the...

Learn how to Reach Out this Summer (7/6/16 – 8/17/16)

In Hebrews, Paul (or whoever “the writer” is), commanded us to: “…run with perseverance the race marked out for us. ”  To be able to “run with perseverance” we need to train.  A runner trains his body through appropriate physical activity.  But for Christians to run the race we need Spiritual Training.  That comes mainly from the Bible,  but it also comes from our fellowship with other Christians.  We learn from each other and from each others experience and wisdom. This summer, we’re going to...
