Yogi, the Our Father’s House “Crossing Guard” in his famous Turkey Hat.
On Monday 9/8, our church’s Preschoool ministry (Our Father’s House) began it’s 6th season.
Our “crossing guard” Yogi was once again on hand to greet the kids and teacher’s as they arrived. Yogi celebrated his birthday shortly before the school year began, but the kids brought him cards when they arrived at school. The cards may have been a bit late, but how precious they were!
Each month of the school year will feature a new “verse of the month”, and the school will take on a different mission project each month and put that verse into action.
September’s verse is from is from I John 3: 23-24
23 And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us.
24 Those who obey his commands live in him, and he in them. And this is how we know that he lives in us: We know it by the Spirit he gave us.

In order to put that love into action during the month of September, the kids are collecting boxes of cereal which will be donated to the Pitman Food Pantry. We will also participate in the annual CROP Walk which raises money to fight local and world-wide hunger.

Around the Classrooms…
A total of 81 kids is currently enrolled, and the following classes are being offered:
- One class for 2 1/2 year olds
- Four classes for 3 year olds
- Three classes for 4 year olds
It’s not too late to enroll! We still have openings in the 3 year old classes and in the afternoon 4 year old class. If you’re interested, contact our Director, Eileen Salmon (OurFathersHouse@PitmanUMC.org).
