Acolyte Ministry Training (9/20/16)
Worship is nothing but a jumble of notes and words unless the Holy Spirit is there. In Matt 18:20, Jesus said: “For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.” Acolytes help us recognize and celebrate God’s presence among us during our services of worship. Over the years, Pitman United Methodist Church has offered to its congregation small groups that based their existence on building relationships with one another and with God. If they fall, one will lift up the other…” Ecclesiastes 4: 9-12 “For where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them.”...

Sunday School (all classes) will NOT be held this week. However, nursery will be available....

Roads are great… we use them all the time! But that’s part of the problem. After years of rain, ice, snow, salt, and plowing, roads wear out. They get pot holes. The sidewalks become… unwalkable. Unfortunately, that also applies to the roads surrounding our church. Our church building is located on the corner of Lambs Road (county road 635) and Broadway (County road 553A), and both roads are now undergoing serious work. The Plan… Broadway and Lambs are county...

In Hebrews, Paul (or whoever “the writer” is), commanded us to: “…run with perseverance the race marked out for us. ” To be able to “run with perseverance” we need to train. A runner trains his body through appropriate physical activity. But for Christians to run the race we need Spiritual Training. That comes mainly from the Bible, but it also comes from our fellowship with other Christians. We learn from each other and from each others...
