Can’t wait for Christmas to come and get over with? Does it feel like you’re in the middle of a hectic rush of shopping, phony parties and crazy drivers? When January comes will you look back and be thankful for Christmas, or will you simply return to your normal routine and feel glad that you survived it?
The true Christmas touches us when we can honestly celebrate Christ (that’s what Christ Mas literally means, afterall). Christ touches us in the quiet moments. In moments of reflection, not in those crazy and frantic shopping trips. Christ can be seen in our hearts; not in the malls.
So take a moment and slow down. Christ comes to us at the beginnings; when we turn to Him in quiet and honest reflection. We’re likely to miss Him when we’re caught up in the middle of those frantic moments.
