Pastor’s Ponderings: Thankful for it All (November 2025)

Posted by on Nov 13, 2025 in FEATURED, Pastors Ponderings | 0 comments

As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday, Pastor Mike  submitted the following thoughts about thanksgiving and sharing.  This is the cover article for the November 2025 issue of Steeple Notes (PUMC’s monthly newsletter).

As believers, it is always good to be thankful, but November, gives us a reminder of this all through Thanksgiving and beyond. Soon families will gather around the dinner table, with all of their traditions, and enjoy a meal, fellowship and time with one another. We truly have so many things to be thankful for in our families and in our church’s life.

One of the things that I am thankful for in our church is the opportunity to do things that are “out of the box,” and allow the community to become involved in a unique way. Recently, we were happy to host a car show and an animal blessing.

In this picture, Danny (the dog) showed the uniqueness of this animal blessing that was a special moment for me. It seems Danny was saying a prayer with me and asking for a blessing right there with me.

These are opportunities that you do not see every day in the church, but are just as special.
Let us continue to be creative in sharing the love of God’s salvation through Jesus Christ and to be thankful for all the ways God has blessed us.
