The summer of ’25 was filled of times of relaxation along with many activities. But the summer is over and we’re moving into the Fall- a new season of 2025-2026 ministries. Pastor Mike submitted the following “ponderings” in the September 2025 issue of Steeple Notes (PUMC’s church newsletter) …
Although January starts a new year in the calendar, many times September is the start of a “new year” of school and ministry. Each season fills us with hope for new things to come and for a fresh start. A new adventure is right around the corner and we look forward to it.
Through the Holy Spirit and the gospel of Jesus, we have been able to accomplish a lot of ministry this past year, and there is more to come! I do not know what this next season will bring spiritually for myself, my family or the church, but I know that it will be filled with God’s presence.
Let us continue to know God together and be the people that he desires us to be, and not what the culture or others want us to be. In all of this, we lead with love.
New Work to be DONE
My prayer, and won’t you join me in this, is that this new season and next year, be filled with people seeking a church who do not have a church. A children’s program that continues to flourish, but now is expanding. Let us see a way that we can reach out to the young adults in ways that we have not before. Let us cherish our past, but not live in it. Jesus has a new purpose for us everyday and is there for us as we face the challenges now and those to come.
Join me as we start this “new year” of ministry! What are new ways that God might be calling you to help in this ministry?
Pastor Mike Chapman
