Enjoy an Italian Dinner and Help Our Seniors…

Honoring our grandparents is more than a Hallmark Holiday- it’s a command of God!  On Sunday September 7, PUMC will help honor our parents and grandparents by supporting the United Methodist Homes.  The United Methodist Homes has pledged that residents will keep their apartment or room even if they have run out of funds.  In order to make the pledge a fiscal reality, United Methodist churches from all over help fund the United Methodist Home’s Fellowship Fund.

Deuteronomy  5:16

Honor your father and your mother, as the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live long and that it may go well with you in the land the Lord your God is giving you.

Psalm 68:5

A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling. NIV

PUMC will participate in two events to help support this important fund…

The Walk for All Ages…

We’re walking! The Walk for All Ages will be held on Sunday, September 7 at Francis Asbury Manor in Ocean Grove, NJ.   Helen Scaletti and Maureen Kier will be walking, and we need people to walk with us and people to sponsor us.  For more information, contact the church office or see Helen or Maureen.

Dinner! A Taste of Italy…

There is also another way you can help raise money for the Fellowship Fund, especially if you like to eat. Locally, Pitman Manor will be having a dinner to celebrate Grandparents’ Day. Called “A Taste of Italy,” it will be held in the PUMC Fellowship Hall, serving between 3-6 PM on Sunday September 7.

The proceeds also benefit the Fellowship Fund. Tickets will be $10 in advance and $12 at the door.

For more information, visit the Pitman Manor website, or call them (589-7800).  Or… just show up for a great meal for a great cause on Sunday afternoon.  The meal will be held in our Fellowship Hall.
