Trunk or Treat (10/26/13)
We’re hosting a “Trunk or Treat” in our parking lot on October 26 from 6:30 to 8:30PM Rain or shine! This event invites volunteers to decorate the trunks of their cars in a clean, age appropriate theme. The Elderberries will have an October Fest celebration in the Fellowship Hall on Wednesday, October 16th at noon. We will have a German-style meal, music, activities, and will plan for the rest of the year. There is a nominal cost for the meal, and you need to make a reservation on the clipboard in the Narthex by Sunday, October 13th. Also, feel free to bring a friend!

For our charity this month, we are collecting boxes of cereal for our local food pantry as we put our verse, “Love One Another” into action. Thank you all for the many cards that you made for our crossing guard, Yogi, as he celebrated his 90th Birthday. He was overwhelmed and absolutely LOVED each card!!

The United Methodist Men held a dinner on Saturday 9/14 to “kickoff” our new season of Saturday gatherings. Rev. John Doll was our guest speaker, and he gave a very interesting and thought provoking presentation on Daniel. About 30 men attended. The Elderberries (seniors ~55+) will take a trip to the Cape May Zoo on Thursday September 19. We’ll leave the church at 10:30 AM, visit the zoo, have diner, and return by 6:00 PM. There is a small donation to enter the zoo, and we will chip in for gas. The cost of the meals or snacks is on your own. There are picnic areas at the zoo. Proceeds from the breakfast (and the accompanying yard sale) will be used to help our friends in LaPlamilla Mexico finish the construction of their church building.
