The Word was with God, and the Word was God.<\/p>\n<p>2 He existed in the beginning with God.<\/p>\n<p>3 God created everything through him, and nothing was created except through him.<\/p>\n<p>4 The Word gave life to everything that was created, and his life brought light to everyone.<\/p>\n<p>5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.<\/p>\n<p>6 God sent a man, John the Baptist,<\/p>\n<p>7 to tell about the light so that everyone might believe because of his testimony.<\/p>\n<p>8 John himself was not the light; he was simply a witness to tell about the light.<\/p>\n<p>9 The one who is the true light, who gives light to everyone, was coming into the world.<\/p>\n<p>10 He came into the very world he created, but the world didn&#8217;t recognize him.<\/p>\n<p>11 He came to his own people, and even they rejected him.<\/p>\n<p>12 But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.<\/p>\n<p>13 They are reborn\u2014not with a physical birth resulting from human passion or plan, but a birth that comes from God.<\/p>\n<p>14 So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. All rights reserved.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class='et-box et-info'>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class='et-box-content'><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> One of the many songs of the season is Amy Grant&#8217;s &#8220;It&#8217;s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year&#8221; (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.metrolyrics.com\/its-the-most-wonderful-time-of-the-year-lyrics-amy-grant.html\" target=\"_blank\">Click Here<\/a> to hear and to see lyrics).\u00a0 It speaks of parties, traditions, happiness when loved ones are near.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">But when we look at Jesus, we see something deeper.\u00a0 Christmas isn&#8217;t just &#8220;wonderful&#8221;&#8230; it is &#8220;wonder filled.&#8221;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/div><\/div>\n<p>It&#8217;s a Wonder-filled TIME of\u00a0 the\u00a0 Year&#8230; it isn&#8217;t just about that one morning on December 25. Advent is about the Journey.\u00a0 We get the meaning as we go; it doesn&#8217;t just suddenly turn on like a string of lights on December 25.<\/p>\n<p>As we travel this journey of Advent, things are a bit crisper this time of year.\u00a0 There are many wonders.\u00a0 Amidst the hustle and bustle in our preparations,<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #008000;\">the music seems to speak louder to us&#8230;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #008000;\">the lights shine brighter and more beautiful&#8230;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #008000;\">the meals taste better&#8230;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #008000;\">the gatherings are more festive and enjoyable&#8230;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #008000;\">and people do seem genuinely kinder&#8230;\u00a0 <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Receiving a card in the mail or a special gift carries an important meaning.\u00a0 Even our loved ones who have departed seem to be &#8220;closer&#8221; to us in a marvelous wonder-filled way.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #800000;\">More Wonder-Filled than Parties and Parades&#8230;<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Yet beyond all of these wonderful wonder-filled preparations,\u00a0 it is the amazing reality that God has broken into our world in the flesh!\u00a0 Christianity presents a God who saw His beloved creatures living in darkness, striving to restore our broken relationship with no success, so God decided to become human and shed light on the path to have that relationship restored.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">As we walk along the journey of Advent, this reality (even more than the lights and parties) fills us with the Wonder of the season.<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>George Beverly Shea was a man who used to sing with Billy Graham and his revival services.\u00a0 He wrote a hymn that says:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><em><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">There&#8217;s the wonder of sunset at evening, the wonder as sunrise I see.<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><em><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">But the wonder of wonders that thrills my soul is the wonder that God loves me.<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><em><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">There&#8217;s the wonder of springtime and harvest: the sky, the stars, the sun.\u00a0 <\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><em><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">But the wonder of wonders that thrills my soul is a wonder that&#8217;s only begun.<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><em><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">O the wonder of it all!\u00a0 The wonder of it all!\u00a0 Just to think that God loves me!<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The real\u00a0 wonder that we discover along the journey of Advent is that God loves us so much He would come to earth for us.\u00a0 THAT is what the preparation is about, that is the\u00a0 destination of the Advent journey.\u00a0 The journey leads us to <a href=\"https:\/\/pitmanumc.org\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Christmas-Parade-2015-11-28-Float-enroute-_IMG_1375b_SM.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-9563\" src=\"https:\/\/pitmanumc.org\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Christmas-Parade-2015-11-28-Float-enroute-_IMG_1375b_SM-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"Christmas Parade 2015-11-28 - Float enroute _IMG_1375b_SM\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pitmanumc.org\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Christmas-Parade-2015-11-28-Float-enroute-_IMG_1375b_SM-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/pitmanumc.org\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Christmas-Parade-2015-11-28-Float-enroute-_IMG_1375b_SM.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>a humble stable filled\u00a0 with light and to God who is born as a baby and ironically allows Himself to become dependent upon the very creatures He created.<\/p>\n<p>Christmas is so marvelous, so indescribable, so wonderful that it finds its expression in decorations, lights, festive events, different worship services and in fellowship activities.\u00a0 Even in community parades.\u00a0 Do we feel the Wonder that God gives us and express it in all of our activity during this &#8220;most wonderful time of the year&#8221;???<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #800000;\">The Wonder of Christ&#8230;<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Christmas gifts; both the desire to receive and to give, drive much of our activity during the Advent season.\u00a0 But to see God and experience the WONDER of Christmas, we need to focus on the Gifts that come from God.\u00a0 How do we embrace the wonder that God &#8220;left the splendor of Heaven, knowing His destiny&#8221; (&#8220;If that Isn&#8217;t Love&#8221;- a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.songlyrics.com\/dottie-rambo\/if-that-isn-t-love-lyrics\/\" target=\"_blank\">song<\/a><\/span> by Dottie Rambo in 1969)?<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #666699; And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father&#8217;s one and only Son.\n\t\t<\/div>\n<p>\n\t\t<div class='et_slidecontent'>\n\t\t\tInstead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being.\n\t\t<\/div> \n\t\t<div class='et_slidecontent'>\n\t\t\tBut when the right time came, God sent his Son, born of a woman, subject to the law. God sent him to buy freedom for us who were slaves to the law, so that he could adopt us as his very own children.\n\t\t<\/div> \n\t\t<div class='et_slidecontent'>\n\t\t\tYou know the generous grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. Though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, so that by his poverty he could make you rich.\n\t\t<\/div> \n\t\t<div class='et_slidecontent'>\n\t\t\tThe law of Moses was unable to save us because of the weakness of our sinful nature. So God did what the law could not do. He sent his own Son in a body like the bodies we sinners have. And in that body God declared an end to sin&#8217;s control over us by giving his Son as a sacrifice for our sins.\n\t\t<\/div> \n\t\t<div class='et_slidecontent'>\n\t\t\tThen he sees all that is accomplished by his anguish, he will be satisfied. And because of his experience, my righteous servant will make it possible for many to be counted righteous, for he will bear all their sins.\n\t\t<\/div> \n\t\t<div class='et_slidecontent'>\n\t\t\tTherefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.\u00a0 We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God&#8217;s throne.\n\t\t<\/div> \n\t\t<div class='et_slidecontent'>\n\t\t\t&#8220;Look at my servant, whom I strengthen. He is my chosen one, who pleases me. I have put my Spirit upon him. He will bring justice to the nations.\n\t\t<\/div> \n\t\t<div class='et_slidecontent'>\n\t\t\tThe Good News is about his Son, Jesus. In his earthly life he was born into King David&#8217;s family line,\u00a0 and he was shown to be the Son of God when he was raised from the dead by the power of the Holy Spirit.\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div> <!-- .et-tabs-container -->\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #800000;\">The Wonder of Gifts&#8230;<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>As we journey through Advent, &#8220;jinglebelling and everyone telling us be of good cheer,&#8221; preparing for our own Christmas celebrations, let&#8217;s be preparing by focusing on the wonder of the season because of Jesus Christ.<\/p>\n<p>Roy L. Smith, a Lutheran pastor wrote:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><em><span style=\"color: #800080;\">He who has not Christmas in his heart\u00a0 will never find it under a tree.<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Are you looking for the Wonder of Christmas in the Wonder of Christ?\u00a0 Advent is a time to prepare to make Christ a <span style=\"background-color: #00ff00;\">Presence among the Presents<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>One of the most amazing verses in the Bible is also one of the most familiar&#8230;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #008000;\">John 3:16<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><em><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">\u00a0&#8220;For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.&#8221;<\/span> <\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The most amazing thing about that verse boils down to two words: <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong><em>He Gave<\/em><\/strong><\/span>.\u00a0 God Gave.\u00a0 God Gave to us!\u00a0 Not only that, He keeps on giving.\u00a0 He keeps on forgiving.<\/p>\n<p>Jesus is the gift that keeps on giving!<\/p>\n<p>And- we give because God keeps giving:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>1 John 4:10<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<strong><em><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Giving is a\u00a0 wonder-filled act of love, if we imitate our God and Savior when we give gifts.<\/p>\n<div class='et-box et-bio'>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class='et-box-content'><span style=\"color: #000000;\">I once read of a 90 year old lady who one Christmas found buying presents a bit much,\u00a0 so she wrote out checks for all of her family and friends, and decided she would put them in with her Christmas cards.\u00a0 When wrote out her Christmas cards and\u00a0 wrote &#8220;Buy your own present&#8221; after her name, then sent them off.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">But after the Christmas festivities were over, she found the checks in her desk!\u00a0 Everyone had got a Christmas card from her with &#8220;Buy your own present&#8221; written inside but without the checks!<\/span><\/div><\/div>\n<p>Jesus didn&#8217;t forget to include the check!\u00a0 Our Wonder-filled Savior keeps writing new checks each time we need His grace and forgiveness.\u00a0 When we look towards the Wonder of Christ and become more like Him, we experience the truth from Acts 20:35\u00a0 that &#8220;It is more blessed to give than to receive.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>We do like to receive gifts&#8230; After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.<\/span> <\/em><\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Be filled with the wonder of God&#8217;s creation.<\/p>\n<p>But be filled with the wonder of His greatest gift:\u00a0 <strong><span style=\"color: #003300;\">God came to this earth in the form of a baby in a cradle so that we could live a restored and vibrant life with God.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Jesus is full\u00a0 of Wonder&#8230;<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Jesus Has a\u00a0 Wonder-filled Heart&#8230;<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Jesus said in John 15:13:\u00a0 <strong><em><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.<\/span><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 God&#8217;s love through Jesus is unmerited&#8230; we don&#8217;t and we can&#8217;t\u00a0 earn it.\u00a0 It&#8217;s unselfish, and it&#8217;s unending.\u00a0 We can&#8217;t do anything to make God stop loving us!\u00a0 There&#8217;s nothing you can do to make Him love you more! (check out the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.metrolyrics.com\/so-you-would-come-lyrics-hillsong-united.html\" target=\"_blank\">song<\/a><\/span>, &#8220;So\u00a0 You Would Come&#8221;).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\t\t<div class='et-simple-slider et_sliderfx_fade et_sliderauto_false et_sliderauto_speed_5000 et_slidertype_simple'>\n\t\t\t<div class='et-simple-slides'>\n\t\t\t\t<div class='et-tabs-content-wrapper'>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class='et_slidecontent'>\n\t\t\t<strong><span style=\"color: #003300;\">CHRIST<span style=\"background-color: #cc99ff;\">M<\/span>AS LOVE<\/span><\/strong>\n\t\t<\/div> \n\t\t<div class='et_slidecontent'>\n\t\t\t<strong><span style=\"color: #003300;\">CHRIST<span style=\"background-color: #cc99ff;\">W<\/span>AS<\/span> <span style=\"color: #003300;\">LOVE<\/span><\/strong>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div> <!-- .et-simple-slider -->\n\t\t\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class='et-box et-bio'>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class='et-box-content'><span style=\"color: #000000;\">An elementary class had a holiday program and rose to sing, &#8220;Christmas Love,&#8221; a surprising title in a commercialized\u00a0 Christmas world today&#8230;\u00a0 The kids were aglow, adorned in fuzzy mittens, red sweaters,\u00a0 and bright snowcaps upon their heads.\u00a0 Those in the front row held up large letters, one by one to spell out the title of the song.\u00a0\u00a0 As the class would sing &#8220;C is for Christmas,&#8221; a child would hold up the letter &#8220;C.&#8221;\u00a0 Then &#8220;H is for Happy,&#8221; and on and on, until each child holding up his portion had presented the complete message, &#8220;Christmas Love.&#8221;\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1932\" style=\"width: 244px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/pitmanumc.org\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/OFH-Christmas-100_1894_500.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1932\" class=\" wp-image-1932\" src=\"https:\/\/pitmanumc.org\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/OFH-Christmas-100_1894_500-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"Our Fathers House Christmas program, 12\/11\/13\" width=\"234\" height=\"132\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pitmanumc.org\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/OFH-Christmas-100_1894_500-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/pitmanumc.org\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/OFH-Christmas-100_1894_500.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 234px) 100vw, 234px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1932\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Our Fathers House Christmas program, 12\/11\/13<\/p><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The performance was going smoothly until suddenly, she did it&#8230; a small quiet girl in the front row holding the letter &#8220;M&#8221; upside down- totally unaware that her letter &#8220;M&#8221; appeared as a &#8220;W.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Although many teachers tried to shush the children, the laughter continued until the last letter was raised, and we all saw it together.\u00a0 A huch came over the audience and eyes began to widen.\u00a0 In that instant, all understood the reason they were there,\u00a0 why they celebrated the holiday in the first place, why even in the chaos, there was a purpose for this program.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">For when the last letter\u00a0 was held high, the message shouted out loud and clear:\u00a0 Christ Was\u00a0 Love&#8221;<\/span><\/div><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>And He STILL IS love!!! And that&#8217;s part of the Wonder&#8230; that in the chaos and busyness of the journey, what fuels our vehicles for the journey is that gift hat <strong><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Christ<\/span> <span style=\"color: #008000;\">IS<\/span> <span style=\"color: #800000;\">Love<\/span><\/strong>.\u00a0 This is the true essence of the journey.\u00a0\u00a0 God steps into our worlds, breaks up our plans, turns our world upside down, and changes\u00a0 our &#8220;M&#8221;s into &#8220;W&#8221;s<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Jesus Has Wonder-filled Hands&#8230;<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Jesus invited Peter out on this aquatic adventure, but soon Peter begins to sink into the angry waves;.\u00a0 The Bible picks up the rest of the story&#8230; (Matt 14:29-31)&#8230;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong><em><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">So Peter went over the side of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus.\u00a0 But when he saw the strong wind and the waves, he was terrified and began to sink. &#8220;Save me, Lord!&#8221; he shouted.<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Jesus immediately reached out and grabbed him. &#8220;You have so little faith,&#8221; Jesus said. &#8220;Why did you doubt me?&#8221;<\/span> <\/em><\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Oh those beautiful hands of Jesus!\u00a0 The <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.rwlswann.org.uk\/archive\/songs\/hymns\/j\/jesushandswerekind.htm\" target=\"_blank\">song<\/a><\/span>, &#8220;Jesus&#8217; Hands Were Kind Hands&#8221; by Margaret Cropper captures this truth&#8230;<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><em><span style=\"color: #800080;\"> &#8220;Jesus&#8217; hands were kind hands, doing good to all, healing pain and sickness, blessing children small, washing tired feet and saving those who fall.\u00a0 Jesus&#8217; hands were kind hands, doing good to all.<\/span><\/em><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><em><span style=\"color: #800080;\"> Take my hands Lord Jesus, let them work for you;\u00a0 Make them strong and gentle, kind in all I do.\u00a0 let me watch you Jesus, till I&#8217;m gentle too, till my hands are kind hands, quick to work for you.&#8221;\u00a0<\/span> <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Those Wonder-Filled Hands that<\/span><\/strong> <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">____________________________<\/span><\/p>\n\n\t\t<div class='et-simple-slider et_sliderfx_fade et_sliderauto_false et_sliderauto_speed_4999 et_slidertype_simple'>\n\t\t\t<div class='et-simple-slides'>\n\t\t\t\t<div class='et-tabs-content-wrapper'>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class='et_slidecontent'>\n\t\t\t<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">fashioned wood and stone in Joseph&#8217;s carpentry shop.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t<div class='et_slidecontent'>\n\t\t\t<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">wrote in the sand and offered forgiveness instead of throwing stones.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>(John 8)\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t<div class='et_slidecontent'>\n\t\t\t<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">touched blind eyes and deaf ears.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>(John 9 &amp; Mark 8:22-25)\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t<div class='et_slidecontent'>\n\t\t\t<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">replaced the ear of one (Malchus) who came to arrest Him.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>(John 18:10)\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t<div class='et_slidecontent'>\n\t\t\t<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">broke bread to feed a multitude.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>(Matthew 14)\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t<div class='et_slidecontent'>\n\t\t\t<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">humbly allowed John to baptize Him in the Jordon River.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>(Matthew 3:13-17)\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t<div class='et_slidecontent'>\n\t\t\t<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">wiped tears from weeping eyes (including His own).<\/span><\/p>\n<p>(John 11:33)\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t<div class='et_slidecontent'>\n\t\t\t<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">will wipe away all tears from OUR eyes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>(Revelation 21)\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t<div class='et_slidecontent'>\n\t\t\t<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">made the heavens and earth&#8230;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">and yet grasped Mary&#8217;s finger as an infant!\u00a0<\/span> (Gen. 1, Col. 1, John 1)\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t<div class='et_slidecontent'>\n\t\t\t<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">washed the disciples&#8217; stinking feet&#8230;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">and later wiped sweat-drops of blood from His brow.<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0 (John 13)\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t<div class='et_slidecontent'>\n\t\t\t<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">were nailed to a cross for you and me.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>(Luke 23)\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t<div class='et_slidecontent'>\n\t\t\t<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">rolled the stone away from the tomb&#8230;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">then bore nail scars which restored Thomas&#8217; faith.<\/span>\u00a0 (John 20)\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div> <!-- .et-simple-slider -->\n\t\t\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>These wonderful&#8230; Wonder-Filled&#8230; hands waved at the ascension; not saying &#8220;Goodbye&#8221; but &#8220;see you later!&#8221;\u00a0 Then those wonder-filled hands pointed and said, &#8220;<em><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">until then, go ye into all the world and preach the Gospel.<\/span><\/em>&#8221;\u00a0 and &#8220;<em><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">I go to prepare a place for you with these hands!<\/span><\/em>&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; color: #008000;\">These same hands will receive us home someday!<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Oh, it is the most wonderful time of the year as we remember that we&#8217;ve got every reason n the world to rejoice in the wonderful hands of Jesus!\u00a0 Isaiah 49:16 tells us that OUR names are graven on those wonder-filled hands&#8230;<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><em><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">See, I have written your name on the palms of my hands.<\/span><\/em><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><em><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Always in my mind is a picture of Jerusalem&#8217;s walls in ruins.<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>John 10-28-29 tells us that &#8220;no man can pluck us from&#8221; Jesus&#8217; wonder-filled hands.\u00a0 Advent is a reminder that when we arrive at the manger, when we look into God as He is wrapped in swaddling cloths in a manger, we are invited to &#8220;Put your hand in the hand of the Man who stilled the waters!&#8221; (the Donny Hathaway <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.lyricsfreak.com\/d\/donny+hathaway\/put+your+hand+in+the+hand_20778477.html\" target=\"_blank\">song<\/a><\/span> from 1971).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Advent:\u00a0 Let Jesus fill it with Wonder!<\/span><\/h3>\n<div class='et-box et-download'>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class='et-box-content'><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Julianne Holland, and 8th grader from Mechanicsburg, PA, wanted to do her part for Jesus at Christmas. Without informing her parents,\u00a0 she addressed a letter to Jesus in care of the local post office.\u00a0 The letter landed on the desk of Presbyterian Donald Orner, the director of customer services at the postal center in Harrisburg.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The letter said&#8230;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><em><span style=\"color: #800080;\">Dear friend,\u00a0 I am 13 years old and you must think I&#8217;m weird for writing a letter to Jesus when everyone knows it wouldn&#8217;t get anywhere.\u00a0 But I wanted to give you a message.<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><em><span style=\"color: #800080;\">Every Christmas, all people think about is getting presents.\u00a0 But that&#8217;s not the reason at all.\u00a0 I think Christmas means getting all your friends together and having a good time because Jesus is born, and that&#8217;s just the beginning of all the beautiful things He did for us.\u00a0 By being born He let love into the world&#8230;&#8221;<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/div><\/div>\n<p>That 8th grader got it!\u00a0 She understood the wonder of the season.<\/p>\n<p>Jesus came to &#8220;<strong><em><span style=\"color: #800080;\">let love into the world.<\/span><\/em><\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>As we sing\u00a0 the carols of the season and reflect once\u00a0 more on the birth of our Savior,, let&#8217;s be sure to kneel before the manger and let the love of God just saturate us.\u00a0 May we embrace it as the marvelous gift that it truly is.\u00a0 May we feel th sense of awe, of wonder that the shepherds of old experienced when the angel announced that the Messiah had been born (Luke 2:8-20).<\/p>\n<p>This Wonderful Wonder-Filled gift can make\u00a0 all the difference in our lives today and for eternity.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em><span style=\"color: #008000;\">It&#8217;s the most wonderful time of the year&#8230;<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It really IS the most wonderful time of the year!\u00a0 We have a God who loves us, cares for us, forgives us, and transforms us into the people He made us to be.<\/p>\n<p>Keep looking for the Gift.\u00a0 Jesus already paid for it!\u00a0 He wants to give it to you!<\/p>\n<p>Let the Wonder of Christmas and the power of all that Jesus offers transform you into a gift bearer.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #800000;\">\u00a0Quiz Time!<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #000080;\">As you reflect on what you&#8217;ve just heard\/read, give this quiz a try.\u00a0 If you don&#8217;t understand an answer (or if you disagree with the &#8220;correct&#8221;
