(9\/20\/15)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The United Methodist Women are collecting items for Health Kits beginning this Sunday, 9\/20! There will be a collection box in the Narthex. We will be packing the Kits at our Annual Fall Fling, Wednesday, October 14.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Here are the details on what we&#8217;re preparing&#8230;.<\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Health Kit Materials<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Each health kit will contain the following materials.\u00a0 Donate whatever parts of a kit that you can&#8230;<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 hand towel\u00a0 15 x 25 inches to 17 x 27 inches;<br \/>\nKitchen, cleaning, and microfiber towels not acceptable.<\/li>\n<li>1 washcloth<\/li>\n<li>1 comb<br \/>\nComb needs to be sturdy and longer than 6 inches long;<br \/>\nNo pocket combs or picks please;<br \/>\nRattail combs and combs without handles are acceptable with a minimum of 6 inches of teeth.<\/li>\n<li>1 metal nail file or nail clippers\u00a0\u00a0 No emery boards, please.<\/li>\n<li>1 bath-size soap\u00a0 3 oz. and larger sizes only;<br \/>\nNo Ivory or Jergens soap due to moisture content;<br \/>\nDo not remove from original packaging.<\/li>\n<li>1 toothbrush\u00a0 Adult size only;<br \/>\nDo not remove from original packaging.<\/li>\n<li>6 adhesive bandages<br \/>\n\u00be inch to 1 inch-size;<\/li>\n<li>Common household Band-Aids.<\/li>\n<li>1 plastic bag&#8230; One-gallon size sealable bag only.<\/li>\n<li>$1.00 to purchase toothpaste<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Assembly Directions<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/pitmanumc.org\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/UMCOR-Health-Kits-2014_400x300.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-8560\" src=\"https:\/\/pitmanumc.org\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/UMCOR-Health-Kits-2014_400x300-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"UMCOR Health Kits- 2014_400x300\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pitmanumc.org\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/UMCOR-Health-Kits-2014_400x300-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/pitmanumc.org\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/UMCOR-Health-Kits-2014_400x300.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>All of the items are packaged in a 1 Gallon &#8220;Zip Lock&#8221; (type) bag.\u00a0 Here are some details&#8230;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Set the $1.00 for toothpaste aside to be included in a separate envelope.<\/li>\n<li>Lay out the hand towel flat on a table.<\/li>\n<li>Lay the washcloth flat in the center of the hand towel.<\/li>\n<li>Place all remaining items on top of the washcloth. Fold over the sides of the hand towel to cover all of the items.<\/li>\n<li>Fold over one end of the hand towel so that it covers all of the items.<\/li>\n<li>Grasp the bundle of items tightly and roll over the remainder of the hand towel tightly.<\/li>\n<li>Place the tightly rolled bundle in the plastic bag.<\/li>\n<li>Remove as much air as possible and seal the bag.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class='et-box et-warning'>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class='et-box-content'><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Important Notes<\/span>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">All items must be new.<\/span>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">Do not wash any of the items as they will be considered used.<\/span>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">Please remove all packaging, unless otherwise specified.<\/span>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">All emergency kits are carefully planned to make them usable in the greatest number of situations. Since strict rules often govern product entry into international countries, it is important that kits contain only the requested items, nothing more.<\/span><\/div><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We planned this project last May not knowing UMCOR would issue this appeal, now! God&#8217;s perfect timing!
