All praise to the God and Father of our Master, Jesus the Messiah! Father of all mercy! God of all healing counsel! He comes alongside us when we go through hard times, and before you know it, he brings us alongside someone else who is going through hard times so that we can be there for that person just as God was there for us.<\/p>\n
We have plenty of hard times that come from following the Messiah, but no more so than the good times of his healing comfort \u2014 we get a full measure of that, too.\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
Mary came to where Jesus was waiting and fell at his feet, saying, “Master, if only you had been here, my brother would not have died.”<\/p>\n
When Jesus saw her sobbing and the Jews with her sobbing, a deep anger welled up within him. He said, “Where did you put him?” “Master, come and see,” they said.<\/p>\n
Now Jesus wept<\/span>. The Jews said, “Look how deeply he loved him.”\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t “If you decide for God, living a life of God-worship, it follows that you don’t fuss about what’s on the table at mealtimes or whether the clothes in your closet are in fashion.<\/p>\n There is far more to your life than the food you put in your stomach, more to your outer appearance than the clothes you hang on your body. Look at the birds, free and unfettered, not tied down to a job description, careless in the care of God. And you count far more to him than birds.\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t Actually, I don’t have a sense of needing anything personally. I’ve learned by now to be quite content whatever my circumstances. I’m just as happy with little as with much, with much as with little.<\/p>\n I’ve found the recipe for being happy whether full or hungry, hands full or hands empty. Whatever I have, wherever I am, I can make it through anything in the One who makes me who I am.\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t Even when the way goes through Death Valley, I’m not afraid when you walk at my side.<\/p>\n Your trusty shepherd’s crook makes me feel secure.\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t So we’re not giving up. How could we! Even though on the outside it often looks like things are falling apart on us, on the inside, where God is making new life, not a day goes by without his unfolding grace. These hard times are small potatoes compared to the coming good times, the lavish celebration prepared for us.<\/p>\n There’s far more here than meets the eye. The things we see now are here today, gone tomorrow. But the things we can’t see now will last forever.\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div> <\/p>\n So when things are going bad and you don’t think there’s anything to be thankful for, remember that we have a God who gives us:<\/p>\n <\/p>\n So whether it’s a cold day in November when you’re surrounded by lots of food and family… or if it’s a hot day in August when you feel you’re all alone, you can be thankful! Nehemiah 8:10 says-<\/p>\n “Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Look to the Lord. Take Joy in Him. Thank Him! \n God sees our circumstances and loves us enough to want to help.<\/li>\n
\n God knows us best and will give us what we need.<\/li>\n
\n We don’t have to worry about not having enough.<\/li>\n
\n He’s there with us in the rough times and sends people to guide and help us.<\/li>\n
\n God is in control and He will make things work out.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
