\"Nepal<\/a>On Saturday April 25 at 11:56 AM, a massive 7.5 earthquake struck Pokhara Nepal<\/a><\/span>.\u00a0 In Pitman, most of us were sound asleep (2:00 AM)- many of us fell asleep looking forward to the next day’s Breakfast\u00a0Buffet<\/a><\/span> and Yard Sale.<\/p>\n

But in Nepal, lives were instantly changed (and ended).<\/p>\n

Two days later, on April 27, UMCOR<\/a><\/span> (United Methodist Committee On Relief) approved a grant of $90,000 for partner\u00a0GlobalMedic<\/a>\u00a0<\/span>to bring sorely-needed clean water to Nepal earthquake survivors through distribution of household and public water-filtration units (click here<\/a><\/span> for more information).<\/p>\n

The United Methodist Church, through UMCOR,\u00a0<\/a><\/span> is always ready to jump into action whenever and where ever disaster strikes. UMCOR is funded by our Shared Giving, and 100% of donations designated for a specific relief action go directly to the relief effort.<\/p>\n

As suggested by Bishop Schol<\/a><\/span> (Greater NJ Conference), continue to be in prayer for the people as they begin to recover from this disaster.<\/p>\n
