You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He is risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid Him.<\/p>\n<p>7 But go, tell His disciples \u2014 and Peter \u2014 that He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him, as He said to you.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>8 So they went out quickly and fled from the tomb, for they trembled and were amazed. And they said nothing to anyone, for they were afraid.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><em>\u00a0<span style=\"color: #800000;\">A Voice from the Other Side&#8230;<\/span><\/em><\/h4>\n<div class='et-box et-bio'>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class='et-box-content'><span style=\"color: #000000;\">There is a story about a man from Chicago who left for a vacation in Florida.\u00a0 His wife was on a business trip and was planning to meet him in Florida the next day.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">When the man reached his hotel he decided to send his wife a quick email.\u00a0 Unable to remember her address, he gave it his best shot from memory.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Elsewhere, a grieving widow whose husband passed away the day before, checked her email.\u00a0 The family heard a shriek and a clunk and then they rushed in the room.\u00a0 The widow had passed out.\u00a0 The following note was on the screen:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">DEAREST WIFE.\u00a0 JUST GOT CHECKED IN.\nEVERYTHING PREPARED FOR YOUR ARRIVAL TOMORROW.\n<\/span><span style=\"color: #000080;\">YOUR LOVING HUSBAND.\n<\/span><span style=\"color: #000080;\">PS- SURE IS HOT DOWN HERE.<\/span><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote><\/div><\/div>\n<p>Wouldn&#8217;t it be great if we could hear a voice from &#8220;the other side?&#8221;\u00a0 Just once.\u00a0 Just for 30 seconds.\u00a0 Just a moment to talk to a lost loved one about what happens when we die.\u00a0 How are they? Is God happy with me?\u00a0 Where will I go when I die???<\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li><strong><span style=\"color: #003300;\">GOOD NEWS:\u00a0\u00a0<\/span> <\/strong>The cool thing is, though: we DO have a voice from &#8220;the other side!&#8221;\u00a0 On Easter Sunday, we gather to celebrate that our crucified Messiah has been raised from the dead.\u00a0 He IS Risen.\u00a0 And do you know what He&#8217;s told us?\u00a0 He tells us &#8220;It&#8217;s all going to be OK.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">BAD NEWS:<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0 We&#8217;ve heard this so many times that we&#8217;ve become numb to the awesome truth of the Resurrection.\u00a0 Like a forwarded junk email, we\u00a0hit the delete key.\u00a0 It&#8217;s as if the caller ID\u00a0begins with &#8220;1-800&#8243;&#8230; we don&#8217;t pick up the phone.\u00a0We&#8217;re so used to being called the &#8220;Resurrection People&#8221; that we go into cruise control.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>But God calls us to &#8220;pick up the phone.&#8221;\u00a0 He tells us to open the email.\u00a0 The resurrection is the power of our lives.\u00a0 In Mark 16:2 the women got up &#8220;very early in the morning.&#8221;\u00a0 When they arrived they found an angel sitting on the huge bolder which had &#8220;sealed&#8221; the tomb.\u00a0 The stone wasn&#8217;t rolled away so Jesus could exit the tomb.\u00a0 No.\u00a0 It was rolled away so His disciples could enter.\u00a0 Death is a comma, not a period!<\/p>\n<p>The angel sitting on the stone (in Matthew&#8217;s account) was saying go in and look.\u00a0 Pick up the phone.\u00a0 Open the email!\u00a0\u00a0 Here are a few things that this message is telling us:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000080;\">1:\u00a0 The Resurrection gives Victory over our Past<\/span>.<\/h3>\n<p>Sin is the thing that makes our lives &#8220;dead.&#8221;\u00a0 Sin is missing God&#8217;s mark for our lives.\u00a0 Sin is what separates us from God.\u00a0 Sin is the mistakes we&#8217;ve made in the past.\u00a0 It&#8217;s those things that haunt us; things we wish we could change.<\/p>\n<p>But God doesn&#8217;t want us to carry our past around anymore.\u00a0 Here&#8217;s what the email says about our past&#8230;<br \/>\n<em><span style=\"color: #ff0000; font-size: 10pt;\">All quotations are from the New International Version<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n\n\t\t\t<div class='tabs-left et_sliderfx_fade et_sliderauto_false et_sliderauto_speed_5000 et_slidertype_left_tabs clearfix'>\n\t\t\t\t<div class='et_left_tabs_bg'><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<ul class='et-tabs-control'>\n\t\t\t<li><a href='#'>\n\t\t\tJohn 1:29\n\t\t<\/a><\/li> \n\t\t<li><a href='#'>\n\t\t\tIsaiah 53:3-12\n\t\t<\/a><\/li> \n\t\t<li><a href='#'>\n\t\t\tPsalm 22:1-18\n\t\t<\/a><\/li> \n\t\t<li><a href='#'>\n\t\t\t1 Timothy 2:3-4\n\t\t<\/a><\/li> \n\t\t<li><a href='#'>\n\t\t\t2 Peter 3:9\n\t\t<\/a><\/li>\n\t\t<\/ul> <!-- .et-tabs-control --> \n\t\t<div class='et-tabs-content'>\n\t\t\t<div class='et-tabs-content-main-wrap'>\n\t\t\t\t<div class='et-tabs-content-wrapper'>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class='et_slidecontent'>\n\t\t\tThe next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, \u201cLook, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!\n\t\t<\/div> \n\t\t<div class='et_slidecontent'>\n\t\t\tHe was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain. Like one from whom people hide their faces he was despised, and we held him in low esteem.\u00a0 \u00a0Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted.\u00a0 \u00a0<span style=\"background-color: #ffff99;\">But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0He was oppressed and afflicted, yet he did not open his mouth; he was led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is silent, so he did not open his mouth.<\/p>\n<p>By oppression and judgment he was taken away. For he was cut off from the land of the living; for the transgression of my people he was punished. \u00a0He was assigned a grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death, though he had done no violence, nor was any deceit in his mouth.\u00a0 \u00a0Yet it was the Lord\u2019s will to crush him and cause him to suffer, and though the Lord makes his life an offering for sin, he will see his offspring and prolong his days, and the will of the Lord will prosper in his hand.\u00a0 \u00a0After he has suffered, he will see the light of life and be satisfied; by his knowledge my righteous servant will justify many, and he will bear their iniquities.<\/p>\n<p>Therefore I will give him a portion among the great, and he will divide the spoils with the strong, because he poured out his life unto death, and was numbered with the transgressors. <span style=\"background-color: #ffff99;\">For he bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors<\/span>.\n\t\t<\/div> \n\t\t<div class='et_slidecontent'>\n\t\t\tMy God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far from saving me, so far from my cries of anguish? My God, I cry out by day, but you do not answer, by night, but I find no rest. Yet you are enthroned as the Holy One; you are the one Israel praises. In you our ancestors put their trust; they trusted and you delivered them. To you they cried out and were saved; in you they trusted and were not put to shame.<\/p>\n<p>But I am a worm and not a man, scorned by everyone, despised by the people. All who see me mock me; they hurl insults, shaking their heads. \u201cHe trusts in the Lord,\u201d they say, \u201clet the Lord rescue him. Let him deliver him, since he delights in him.\u201d Yet you brought me out of the womb; you made me trust in you, even at my mother\u2019s breast. From birth I was cast on you; from my mother\u2019s womb you have been my God.<\/p>\n<p>Do not be far from me, for trouble is near and there is no one to help. Many bulls surround me; strong bulls of Bashan encircle me. Roaring lions that tear their prey open their mouths wide against me. I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint. My heart has turned to wax; it has melted within me. My mouth is dried up like a potsherd, and my tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth; you lay me in the dust of death. Dogs surround me, a pack of villains encircles me; they pierce my hands and my feet. All my bones are on display; people stare and gloat over me. They divide my clothes among them and cast lots for my garment.\n\t\t<\/div> \n\t\t<div class='et_slidecontent'>\n\t\t\tThis is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.\n\t\t<\/div> \n\t\t<div class='et_slidecontent'>\n\t\t\tThe Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div> <!-- .tabs-left -->\n<p>God sent His Son into the world to die on a cross for our sin and to provide a means for us to respond to Him\u00a0 As we respond in faith we can have a BRAND NEW relationship with God.\u00a0 This is the very essence of John 3:16&#8230; and 17:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.\u00a0<span id=\"en-NIV-26138\" class=\"text John-3-17\"><sup class=\"versenum hide\"> \u00a0<\/sup>For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.<\/span><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Because of the resurrection, we can be assured that we are not condemned.\u00a0 The sacrificial death and resurrection of Jesus go hand and hand.\u00a0 They are a single event, as Paul writes in Romans 4:35&#8230;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Jesus &#8220;was handed over to death for our trespasses AND was raised for our justification.&#8221;<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Jesus&#8217; death was the bridge which allows humanity to walk by faith to God.\u00a0 The resurrection is God&#8217;s exclamation mark that Jesus bore the sins of humanity on the cross.\u00a0 In <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=2+Corinthians+5%3A21+&amp;version=NIV\" target=\"_blank\">2\u00a0Corinthians\u00a05:21<\/a><\/span> Paul tells us that He who knew no sin BECAME sin for each of us as He was nailed to the cross.<\/p>\n<p>The good news in this email is that we are different because of the cross.\u00a0 God is calling us to let go of the past and become big dreamers and see life with new eyes with daring possibility!\u00a0 Our past mistakes, our sin- it&#8217;s all been deleted!<\/p>\n<div class='et-box et-shadow'>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class='et-box-content'><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> &#8220;For I know the plans I have for you,\u201d declares the Lord, \u201cplans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Jeremiah 29:11<\/span><\/div><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>\u00a0<span style=\"color: #000080;\">2: The Resurrection of Jesus Provides Hope for the Future<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Now there are a few verses in the Bible that can be troubling&#8230;<\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: circle;\">\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Hebrews+9%3A23-27&amp;version=NIV\">Hebrews 9:27<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0 Just as man is <span style=\"background-color: #ffff00;\">destined to die<\/span> once, and after that to face judgment&#8230;<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Eccl+3&amp;version=NIV\" target=\"_blank\">Ecclesiastes 3:2<\/a><\/span>\u00a0\u00a0 a time to be born and a <span style=\"background-color: #ffff00;\">time to die<\/span>&#8230;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>BUT- Jesus came so that we could have eternal life.\u00a0 Yes, the physical body dies.\u00a0 But our spiritual selves live on and on.\u00a0 And if we&#8217;re in Christ, there is no judgment.<\/p>\n\n\t\t\t<div class='tabs-left et_sliderfx_fade et_sliderauto_false et_sliderauto_speed_5000 et_slidertype_left_tabs clearfix'>\n\t\t\t\t<div class='et_left_tabs_bg'><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<ul class='et-tabs-control'>\n\t\t\t<li><a href='#'>\n\t\t\tActs 2:24\n\t\t<\/a><\/li> \n\t\t<li><a href='#'>\n\t\t\tEphesians 1:19-20\n\t\t<\/a><\/li> \n\t\t<li><a href='#'>\n\t\t\tLuke 24:9\n\t\t<\/a><\/li> \n\t\t<li><a href='#'>\n\t\t\tMatthew 28:8\n\t\t<\/a><\/li>\n\t\t<\/ul> <!-- .et-tabs-control --> \n\t\t<div class='et-tabs-content'>\n\t\t\t<div class='et-tabs-content-main-wrap'>\n\t\t\t\t<div class='et-tabs-content-wrapper'>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class='et_slidecontent'>\n\t\t\tBut God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him.\n\t\t<\/div> \n\t\t<div class='et_slidecontent'>\n\t\t\t&#8230;and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of his mighty strength,\u00a0 which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms&#8230;\n\t\t<\/div> \n\t\t<div class='et_slidecontent'>\n\t\t\tWhen they came back from the tomb, they told all these things to the Eleven and to all the others.\n\t\t<\/div> \n\t\t<div class='et_slidecontent'>\n\t\t\tSo the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples.\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div> <!-- .tabs-left -->\n<p>Death is a comma; not a period!\u00a0 The resurrection of Jesus affirms that death is not the end of life&#8217;s story, and eternal life is an experience people can enter NOW.\u00a0 We can claim that hope today! In John 17:3 Jesus prays that &#8220;<strong><em><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">this is eternal life, that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.<\/span><\/em><\/strong>&#8221;\u00a0 This gift of the Holy Spirit gives us hope for the future even as we begin to live our eternal lives in the present.\u00a0 In <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=romans+8%3A38-39&amp;version=NIV\" target=\"_blank\">Romans 8:38-39<\/a><\/span> Paul reminds us that NOTHING can separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus&#8230; not even death.<\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #800080;\">Hope.\u00a0 All fear is gone.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p>We will never fully realize our faith or enjoy the benefits of abundant living (John 10:10) by deleting God&#8217;s email.\u00a0 The power of God that brought Jesus back to life is available to us IF we open the forwarded email.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000080;\">3: The Resurrection of Jesus Provides Hope for the Present<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>John Wesley said that God&#8217;s power is not only for those who have died, but also in &#8220;preserving believers in their spiritual life.&#8221;\u00a0 The resurrection allows us to reach out to Christ by faith and receive the strength we need to face any situation in our lives.<\/p>\n<p>In the early church, one of the earliest expressions of worship to God was the use of the word Maranatha.\u00a0 Maranatha means: &#8220;Our Lord Comes.&#8221;\u00a0 This gives us confidence to know that God will be with us every moment of every day.\u00a0 Pitman&#8217;s own C. Austin Miles had it right when he wrote, &#8220;<strong><em><span style=\"color: #800080;\">He walks with me and tells me I am His own!<\/span><\/em><\/strong>&#8221;\u00a0 All because of the resurrection.<\/p>\n<p>Open the email!\u00a0 Download the attachments!\u00a0 When Christ comes into our lives through the door of the resurrection, here&#8217;s what we get:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li>Continual presence (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=john+14%3A21-23&amp;version=NIV\" target=\"_blank\">John\u00a014:21\u00a0&amp;\u00a023<\/a><\/span>)<\/li>\n<li>Power (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=acts+1%3A8&amp;version=NIV\" target=\"_blank\">Acts 1:8<\/a><\/span>)<\/li>\n<li>Peace (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=John+14%3A27&amp;version=NIV\" target=\"_blank\">John 14:27<\/a><\/span>)<\/li>\n<li>Truth (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=John+16%3A13&amp;version=NIV\" target=\"_blank\">John 16:13<\/a><\/span>)<\/li>\n<li>Teaching and Direction (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Isaiah+48%3A17&amp;version=NIV\" target=\"_blank\">Isaiah 48:17<\/a><\/span>)<\/li>\n<li>Help in any Circumstance (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Philippians+4%3A19&amp;version=NIV\" target=\"_blank\">Philippians 4:19<\/a><\/span>)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">The Gaither hymn, &#8220;<strong>Because He Lives<\/strong>&#8221; was spot on:\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n&#8220;Because He lives I can face tomorrow.\u00a0 Because He lives all fear is gone!&#8221;<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">The great resurrection hymn, &#8220;<strong>He Lives<\/strong>&#8221; proclaims:<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">Jesus is the hope of all who seek Him; the help of all who find.<br \/>\nNone other is so loving, so good and kind.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">He lives.\u00a0 He lives.\u00a0 Christ Jesus lives today!<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">You ask me how I know He lives?\u00a0 He lives within my heart<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Because Jesus lives, we can live life to the fullest. \u00a0 Through the resurrection, Jesus removed the sting of the past, strengthens us in the struggles of the present, and will carry us past the fear of the future.<\/p>\n<div class='et-box et-bio'>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class='et-box-content'><span style=\"color: #000000;\">A father and son were traveling down a country road on an afternoon in the spring time when suddenly a bee flew in the window.\u00a0 Being deathly allergic to bee stings, the boy began to panic as the bee buzzed all around inside the car.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Seeing the horror on his child&#8217;s face,\u00a0 the father reached out and caught the bee in his hand.\u00a0 Soon, he opened his hand and the bee began to buzz around again.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Again, the boy began to panic. The father reached over to his son, and opened his hand showing him the stinger still in his palm.\u00a0 &#8220;Relax son,&#8221; the father said. &#8220;I took the sting.\u00a0 The bee can&#8217;t hurt you anymore.&#8221;<\/span><\/div><\/div>\n<p>There&#8217;s a message in your inbox&#8230;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">fwd: I took the sting<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Have you opened it?\u00a0 As we consider the Easter story again, will you and I open our hearts to the message?\u00a0 Jesus took the sting away; the sting of death, the fear of the future.\u00a0 Our risen Lord replaced it with hope and purpose.\u00a0 Open the email and allow the resurrection power of Jesus to be born in your heart anew.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong><span style=\"color: #800080;
