Ever get one of those emails that had been forwarded to a gazillion people?\u00a0 It might be yet another message with jokes or another advertisement.\u00a0 When these messages come, we usually hit the delete key without even considering to open them.\u00a0 If the message starts with the letters “fwd:”, the word “ignore” tends to pop into most of our minds.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

But have we experienced so many Easters that the amazing message of the Resurrection has simply dissolved into a familiar, worn out image of eggs and candy?\u00a0 Just like an annoying email?
\n<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

1 Corinthians 15:1-8<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand,<\/p>\n

2 by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you \u2014 unless you believed in vain.<\/p>\n

3 For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,<\/p>\n

4 and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures,<\/p>\n

5 and that He was seen by Cephas, then by the twelve.<\/p>\n

6 After that He was seen by over five hundred brethren at once, of whom the greater part remain to the present, but some have fallen asleep.<\/p>\n

7 After that He was seen by James, then by all the apostles.<\/p>\n

8 Then last of all He was seen by me also, as by one born out of due time.<\/p>\n

Mark 16:1-8<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Now when the Sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices, that they might come and anoint Him.<\/p>\n

2 Very early in the morning, on the first day of the week, they came to the tomb when the sun had risen.<\/p>\n

3 And they said among themselves, “Who will roll away the stone from the door of the tomb for us?”<\/p>\n

4 But when they looked up, they saw that the stone had been rolled away \u2014 for it was very large.<\/p>\n

5 And entering the tomb, they saw a young man clothed in a long white robe sitting on the right side; and they were alarmed.<\/p>\n

6 But he said to them, “Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He is risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid Him.<\/p>\n

7 But go, tell His disciples \u2014 and Peter \u2014 that He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him, as He said to you.”<\/p>\n

8 So they went out quickly and fled from the tomb, for they trembled and were amazed. And they said nothing to anyone, for they were afraid.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n

\u00a0A Voice from the Other Side…<\/span><\/em><\/h4>\n
\n\t\t\t\t\t
There is a story about a man from Chicago who left for a vacation in Florida.\u00a0 His wife was on a business trip and was planning to meet him in Florida the next day.<\/span><\/p>\n

When the man reached his hotel he decided to send his wife a quick email.\u00a0 Unable to remember her address, he gave it his best shot from memory.<\/span><\/p>\n

Elsewhere, a grieving widow whose husband passed away the day before, checked her email.\u00a0 The family heard a shriek and a clunk and then they rushed in the room.\u00a0 The widow had passed out.\u00a0 The following note was on the screen:<\/span><\/p>\n

DEAREST WIFE.\u00a0 JUST GOT CHECKED IN.\nEVERYTHING PREPARED FOR YOUR ARRIVAL TOMORROW.\n<\/span>YOUR LOVING HUSBAND.\n<\/span>PS- SURE IS HOT DOWN HERE.<\/span><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote><\/div><\/div>\n

Wouldn’t it be great if we could hear a voice from “the other side?”\u00a0 Just once.\u00a0 Just for 30 seconds.\u00a0 Just a moment to talk to a lost loved one about what happens when we die.\u00a0 How are they? Is God happy with me?\u00a0 Where will I go when I die???<\/p>\n
