In most of the world, Sunday Feb. 1 2015 is known as “Super Sunday” or Superbowl Sunday.”\u00a0 But at PUMC, it also became known as “Dress Down Sunday” during our worship services.<\/p>\n

Dressing up was out.\u00a0 Instead, we wore our favorite team’s colors; football or otherwise.<\/p>\n

It was a time to change the environment and to re-focus our attention on worship.\u00a0 Pastor Jim’s sermon<\/a><\/span> took on a Football theme; even the bulletin talked about the kick off and huddle instead of the Call to Worship or Congregational Prayer.\u00a0 We learned that formalities aren’t the most important\u00a0 thing.\u00a0 What is important is that we recognize the gifts God has given each of us and that we focus on the “Playbook” to learn how we can contribute.<\/p>\n
