Open the following box to follow\u00a0 along&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class='et-learn-more clearfix'>\n\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class='heading-more'>Scripture<span class='et_learnmore_arrow'><span><\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class='learn-more-content'><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Genesis 5:21-24 21\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Enoch lived sixty-five years, and begot Methuselah. \u00a0 After he begot Methuselah, Enoch walked with God three hundred years, and had sons and daughters. \u00a0 So all the days of Enoch were three hundred and sixty-five years. \u00a0 And Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> &#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;- <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Hebrews 11:5-6 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 By faith Enoch was taken away so that he did not see death, \u201cand was not found, because God had taken him\u201d\u00a0 for before he was taken he had this testimony, that he pleased God. But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0NKJV<\/span><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><em><span style=\"color: #993366;\">\u00a0There will be times where our legs will get tired.\u00a0 IF we are walking with God, all we have to do is to ask Him to pick us up&#8230;<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Putting Enoch and His Times in Context<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\n\t\t\t<div class='et-tabs-container et_sliderfx_fade et_sliderauto_false et_sliderauto_speed_5000 et_slidertype_top_tabs'>\n\t\t\t\t<ul class='et-tabs-control'>\n\t\t\t<li><a href='#'>\n\t\t\tGenesis 3\n\t\t<\/a><\/li> \n\t\t<li><a href='#'>\n\t\t\tGenesis 4\n\t\t<\/a><\/li> \n\t\t<li><a href='#'>\n\t\t\tGenesis 5\n\t\t<\/a><\/li> \n\t\t<li><a href='#'>\n\t\t\tGenesis 6\n\t\t<\/a><\/li> \n\t\t<li><a href='#'>\n\t\t\t\n\t\t<\/a><\/li>\n\t\t<\/ul> <!-- .et-tabs-control --> \n\t\t<div class='et-tabs-content'>\n\t\t\t<div class='et-tabs-content-main-wrap'>\n\t\t\t\t<div class='et-tabs-content-wrapper'>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\n\t\t<div class='et_slidecontent'>\n\t\t\tThe perfect life with God has drastically changed.\u00a0 Adam and Eve gave into their own desires and yielded to Satin.\u00a0 Sin and death had entered the world.\n\t\t<\/div>\u00a0 \n\t\t<div class='et_slidecontent'>\n\t\t\tGreat changes and advancements in technology were taking place.\u00a0 In may ways, this is similar to our own times. There is the bad: the first murder is recorded.\u00a0 There is the good: civilization is growing and spreading.\u00a0 This is the world into which Enoch is born.\n\t\t<\/div> \n\t\t<div class='et_slidecontent'>\n\t\t\tChapter 5 records the geologies of Adam&#8217;s descendants.\u00a0 All of them lived many years.\u00a0 They had children.\u00a0 But then&#8230; they died.\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class='et_slidecontent'>\n\t\t\tIn chapter 6, the people had almost totally forsaken God.\u00a0 But, there was one man: Noah.\u00a0 Verse 8 says &#8220;But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord.&#8221;\u00a0\u00a0 But&#8230;\n\t\t<\/div> <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div> <!-- .et-tabs-container --> <\/span><\/p>\n<p>This is the world into which Enoch came.\u00a0 Sin was rampant.\u00a0\u00a0 Change abounded.\u00a0 Life was difficult.\u00a0 Sound familiar???\u00a0\u00a0 But-\u00a0 Enoch walked with God (Genesis 5:24).\u00a0 Unlike all of the other people recorded in Genesis 5, Enoch did not die.\u00a0 &#8220;Enoch walked with God; then he was no more, because God took him away.&#8221;\u00a0 It was as if Enoch became tired and like the famous poem about the\u00a0 <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.footprints-inthe-sand.com\/index.php?page=Poem\/Poem.php\" target=\"_blank\">Footprints in the Sand<\/a><\/span>, God simply picked him up in His mighty arms and &#8220;took him away.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>God carried him.\u00a0 Enoch&#8217;s presence with God simply changed locations&#8230; he continued to walk with God, but the walk was now in a far better place.\u00a0 To be absent from the body is to be present with God (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=2+corinthians+5%3A1-8&amp;version=NKJV\" target=\"_blank\">2 Corinthians 5:8<\/a><\/span>).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Putting our World and Our Times in Context&#8230;<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Busyness, Change, Advancements<br \/>\n<\/span><\/h4>\n<p>Enoch&#8217;s world was changing, but so is ours.\u00a0 Imagine; we can leave our worship service this morning, and by dinner time we can be on the beach in Florida.\u00a0 If a relative in a different country can&#8217;t attend a funeral, no problem.\u00a0 We can Skype, and it&#8217;s almost like being there.\u00a0 Advancements most adults couldn&#8217;t have even dreamed about when they were growing up are now common place.\u00a0 And yet, in the midst of his busy world, Enoch Walked With God&#8230; and so can we.<\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Our World is Spiritual<\/span><\/h4>\n<p>In all of the selfishness, this statement might seem hard to believe.\u00a0 But we do live in a world where people are searching for the &#8220;Ultimate Reality.&#8221;\u00a0\u00a0 It might be in drugs, it might be in Buddha, or it might be in a &#8220;god&#8221; distant from the true God.\u00a0 But people are searching.\u00a0 And like different brands of smart phones, people pick and choose from a variety of religions.\u00a0 So the challenge is before us as Christians:\u00a0 Do WE walk with God?\u00a0 Can people see the true God through us?\u00a0 In the midst of all of our busyness, are we the Enochs of our day?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Learning to Walk Like Enoch<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Enoch is a Man of Testimony<\/span><\/h4>\n<p>Enoch was surrounded by wickedness, and yet he continued to &#8220;walk with God.&#8221;\u00a0 We&#8217;re surrounded by wickedness.\u00a0 People always have an excuse for everything.\u00a0 It&#8217;s not always straight out BAD; it&#8217;s usually more subtile.\u00a0 Compromise.\u00a0 White lies.\u00a0 Jokes.\u00a0 Do we walk with God in all of those situations?\u00a0 Or, do we make excuses?<\/p>\n<p>Enoch took responsibility.\u00a0 He was unwilling to compromise.\u00a0 Gene Campbell Morgan one said that to walk with God means that we:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><strong><span style=\"color: #800080;\">&#8220;Move under a divine direction&#8221;<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Can that be said of us?\u00a0 Do we move under God&#8217;s divine direction or do we make it up ourselves as we go along?\u00a0 Do we allow a &#8220;situational ethic&#8221; rule the day?
