L-R Jennifer Geordano, Natalie Evans, Pierre Joseph, Dr. Bruce Main\" width=\"199\" height=\"147\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-3028\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Urban Promise at PUMC on 1\/5\/14.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><\/p><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><em><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Marcus Bell\u00a0 from Urban Promise, will visit PUMC on Sunday January 18 to share about their ministry in Camden and to lead our worship services.\u00a0\u00a0 Marcus is the Director of <a href=\"http:\/\/urbanpromiseusa.org\/search\/node\/camp%20spirit\" target=\"_blank\">Camp Spirit<\/a>.<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; color: #000080;\"><em>Marcus will preach on\u00a0 <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=James+1%3A26-27&amp;version=NIV\" target=\"_blank\">James 1:26-27<\/a><\/span>.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s a testimony from an 11 grader that was recently posted on the Urban Promise <a href=\"http:\/\/urbanpromisenewsubscriberslist.cmail1.com\/t\/ViewEmail\/y\/20A3916DE100578C\/E0712EC29DC3C30CC4DA2C823DDA3384\" target=\"_blank\">website<\/a>&#8230;<\/p>\n<div class='et-box et-bio'>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class='et-box-content'><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><em> A Year of Opportunity by Yormeliz, Urban Promise Academy 11th grader&#8230;<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> I started coming to Urban Promise just 1 year ago, and in that year\u2026 <\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">I\u2019ve done community service And helped organize a canned food drive. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">I\u2019ve worked with teens from other schools on projects. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">I\u2019ve been hiking. I slept in a tent. I made my own food. I rode a bike for 250 miles. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">I helped plant a garden. I built a boat. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">I\u2019ve been to Washington, DC. To Massachusetts, To New Hampshire. I\u2019ve been to Colorado, And Utah. I\u2019ve visited 5 different National Parks. I visited the White House, and the Smithsonian. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">I canoed on the Cooper, I raced a Dragon Boat on the Schuylkill and did a 4-day paddle on the Delaware River.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> I caught lobsters in Maine. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">I\u2019ve been a part of Students in Action And Outdoor Leadership Training, and now I\u2019m running for Student Council. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">I spoke English for the first time in front of a group of people. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">And now I\u2019m standing here in front of you. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Just over a year ago, I was living in Puerto Rico. I had done none of these things. But when an experience comes up and I catch it in my eyes, and it stays in my eyes&#8212;I have to do it. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">I believe I must take every opportunity that is offered to me.
