Wisdom helps one to do well&#8221; (NLV).<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<hr \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class='et-box et-shadow'>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class='et-box-content'><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The past couple of days I&#8217;ve been feeling a bit nostalgic and for some reason I recalled cutting the grass when I was a boy. Back then we did not have a motorized lawn mower. Dad used to have one of those manual lawn mowers which needed to be pushed by hand. Some of you reading this may remember those &#8220;antiques.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Quite frankly, cutting the small patch of grass we called a back yard in Delanco was not a big deal IF I did what Dad had instructed. You see, he told me repeatedly that the key was keeping the blades sharp. He even gave me the files and showed me how to sharpen the blades. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">I learned very quickly that if I let the blades become dull, I had to work harder, perspire more, and risk becoming frustrated about how difficult the job was. Yet, when I listened to my fathers instructions, used the tools he had given me, the work was enjoyable, and the results satisfying.<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/pitmanumc.org\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/rusty-lawnmower-351354_640.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-4915\" src=\"https:\/\/pitmanumc.org\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/rusty-lawnmower-351354_640-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"rusty-lawnmower-351354_640\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pitmanumc.org\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/rusty-lawnmower-351354_640-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/pitmanumc.org\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/rusty-lawnmower-351354_640-178x178.jpg 178w, https:\/\/pitmanumc.org\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/rusty-lawnmower-351354_640-184x184.jpg 184w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">I see a valuable spiritual lesson in that real story from my life. We must keep our spiritual blades sharp at all times. Using dull spiritual blades individually and corporately leads to frustration, increased difficulty, robs us of the joy of serving, and will not produce fruit for the Kingdom of God.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Our gracious God has given us the tools to keep our spiritual &#8220;blades&#8221; sharp. <\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">He has invited us to have an active <strong><span style=\"color: #800080;\">prayer life<\/span><\/strong> allowing us to communicate with God on a daily basis. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">We&#8217;re invited to participate in <strong><span style=\"color: #800080;\">worship<\/span><\/strong> consistently where we can sing, pray, be stretched, challenged, and encouraged with our sisters and brothers in Christ. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">God invites us to daily reading and meditation upon the <strong><span style=\"color: #800080;\">Holy Scriptures<\/span><\/strong>. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">God invites us to participate in<strong><span style=\"color: #800080;\"> small group study<\/span><\/strong> where we can keep sharp. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">These along with <strong><span style=\"color: #800080;\">faithful service<\/span><\/strong> allows us to keep our spiritual blades sharp.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Friends, please don&#8217;t allow your spiritual blades to become dull. Why keep trying to cut through the concerns of life with dull blades?
