{"id":4683,"date":"2014-11-18T22:15:09","date_gmt":"2014-11-19T02:15:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pitmanumc.org\/wp\/?p=4683"},"modified":"2014-11-18T22:17:33","modified_gmt":"2014-11-19T02:17:33","slug":"tuesday-night-group-studying-the-lords-prayer-111814","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pitmanumc.org\/wp\/?p=4683","title":{"rendered":"Tuesday Night Group Studying the Lord&#8217;s Prayer (11\/18\/14)"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Tuesday Bible Study with Pastor Jim&#8230;<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Since the middle of October, Pastor Jim has been leading an in depth study of the Lord&#8217;s Prayer during the studies on Tuesdays.\u00a0 The classes are held in the morning at 9:30 and then again in the evening after dinner (starting at 7:00 PM).\u00a0 Both groups meet\u00a0 in the Potter&#8217;s Hand room (on the sanctuary balcony level).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/pitmanumc.org\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/Pastor-Jim-UMM-2014-09-13-_photo-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-3626 size-thumbnail\" src=\"https:\/\/pitmanumc.org\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/Pastor-Jim-UMM-2014-09-13-_photo-1-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"Pastor Jim Bolton during Men's Fellowship on 9\/13\/14.\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pitmanumc.org\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/Pastor-Jim-UMM-2014-09-13-_photo-1-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/pitmanumc.org\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/Pastor-Jim-UMM-2014-09-13-_photo-1-178x178.jpg 178w, https:\/\/pitmanumc.org\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/Pastor-Jim-UMM-2014-09-13-_photo-1-184x184.jpg 184w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a>We&#8217;ve been taking it phrase by phrase&#8230;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Our Father- Abba, Daddy.\u00a0 Prayer is real- not a vain repetition<\/li>\n<li>Heaven- Heaven is where God is (we can experience a piece of that on earth).<\/li>\n<li>Name- The Name of the Lord is lifted up throughout scripture.<\/li>\n<li>Kingdom-\u00a0 Future but present<\/li>\n<li>Daily Bread- God wants us to depend on Him for all our needs<\/li>\n<li>Forgive- Lift the burden.\u00a0 Forgive others; you can&#8217;t out-forgive God.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Pastor Jim has a deep knowledge of scripture, and we&#8217;ve been digging into the Bible, mining nuggets that we haven&#8217;t seen in a long time.\u00a0 As we compare Jesus&#8217; reality of what our lives should be in relationship to our Creator, we see how short we fall and how far off the mark our world really is.<\/p>\n<p>Consider the Lord&#8217;s prayer&#8230; don&#8217;t let it become a &#8220;vain repetition.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #800000;\">\u00a0Chuck Knows Church&#8230;<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>&#8220;Coincidentally,&#8221;
