Enjoy an Italian Dinner and Help Our Seniors…<\/span><\/h3>\n

Honoring our grandparents is more than a Hallmark Holiday- it’s a command of God!\u00a0 On Sunday September 7, PUMC will help honor our parents and grandparents by supporting the United Methodist Homes<\/a><\/span>.\u00a0 The United Methodist Homes has pledged that residents will keep their apartment or room even if they have run out of funds.\u00a0 In order to make the pledge a fiscal reality, United Methodist churches from all over help fund the United Methodist Home’s Fellowship Fund<\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n

Honor your father and your mother, as the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live long and that it may go well with you in the land the Lord your God is giving you. <\/span><\/p>\n

A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling.<\/span>\nNIV<\/p><\/div><\/div>\n

PUMC will participate in two events to help support this important fund…<\/p>\n

The Walk for All Ages…<\/span><\/h3>\n

We’re walking!<\/strong> The Walk for All Ages<\/em> will be held on Sunday, September 7 at Francis Asbury Manor<\/a><\/span> in Ocean Grove, NJ. \u00a0 Helen Scaletti and Maureen Kier will be walking, and we need people to walk with us and people to sponsor us.\u00a0 For more information, contact the church office<\/a><\/span> or see Helen or Maureen.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dinner! A Taste of Italy…<\/span><\/h3>\n

There is also another way you can help raise money for the Fellowship Fund, especially if you like to eat. Locally, Pitman Manor will be having a dinner to celebrate Grandparents’ Day. Called \u201cA Taste of Italy,\u201d it will be held in the PUMC Fellowship Hall, serving between 3-6 PM on Sunday September 7.

The proceeds also benefit the Fellowship Fund. Tickets will be $10 in advance and $12 at the door.<\/span><\/p>\n
