Dr. Main spoke on Colossians 3:15-7 using the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/S%C3%B8ren_Kierkegaard\" target=\"_blank\">Soren Kierkagaard<\/a> quote, &#8220;What&#8217;s important is not the road you travel, but the way you travel the road you&#8217;re on&#8221; (<em>or something like that&#8230;<\/em>).<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_3028\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/pitmanumc.org\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/Urban-Promise-100_1901-300x2221.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3028\" class=\"size-full wp-image-3028\" src=\"https:\/\/pitmanumc.org\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/Urban-Promise-100_1901-300x2221.jpg\" alt=\"Urban Promise at PUMC on 1\/5\/14. L-R Jennifer Geordano, Natalie Evans, Pierre Joseph, Dr. Bruce Main\" width=\"300\" height=\"222\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-3028\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Urban Promise at PUMC on 1\/5\/14.<br \/>L-R Jennifer Geordano, Natalie Evans, Pierre Joseph, Dr. Bruce Main<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Our surroundings may not look very good.\u00a0 We may want to be on another &#8220;road&#8221;.\u00a0 We may be tempted to keep saying, &#8220;One day I&#8217;ll ___&#8221;.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 But our Creator is a God who turns the ordinary into opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Main told the story of an outing where a group of kids were taught Christmas carols.\u00a0 On their return trip, riding on an old bus with no heat, the kids started singing some of the Carols they had just learned.\u00a0 Amid the traffic and &#8220;ordinaryness&#8221; of\u00a0 route 42, God had created a special moment.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Main went on to say how a luxury bus returning from an Atlantic City casino trip pulled\u00a0 even with their bus on the adjacent lane.\u00a0 Behind the tinted windows of the other bus, he could see the occupants, comfortable in their overstuffed seats, viewing their individual video monitors, and sipping on their martinis.<\/p>\n<p>The other bus was sharing the same highway, but they were on a different &#8220;road.&#8221;\u00a0 The other bus was enjoying the ordinary frills of life, but their bus was enjoying a special moment from God.<\/p>\n<p>In the end, it doesn&#8217;t really matter which road you&#8217;re on.\u00a0 What matters is what you&#8217;re doing for God during your journey.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dr. Bruce Main, president of Urban Promise delivered the message this morning during both services.
