After the Christmas break, Pastor Jim has resumed his weekly Bible Study.\u00a0 Last year we studied the opening chapters of Revelation and then moved into Esther.\u00a0 This year, we’re starting out with some selections from the book of Psalms…<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Prayer???<\/span><\/h3>\n

Have you ever wondered what you should pray about?\u00a0 The Bible says that the Holy Spirit will help you out.\u00a0 Here’s what Paul said in Romans 8:26<\/a><\/span>…<\/p>\n

\n

In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The Bible is loaded with many examples of people praying; how did these people connect with the Holy Spirit?\u00a0 What did they pray for?\u00a0 What did they not pray for???\u00a0 The Book of Psalms is the “Hebrew Hymnbook”, but it’s also full of prayers.\u00a0 In these Psalms you’ll find prayers for forgiveness, prayers for deliverance, prayers that just praise God for who He is.\u00a0 And you’ll also find prayers of despair, pain, and anger.\u00a0 One thing we learn pretty quickly (especially from David’s Psalms) is that God wants us to be totally honest.\u00a0 He can take it if we tell Him what we really thing!<\/p>\n

Tuesday Bible Study<\/span><\/h3>\n

To open 2023, we’re going to open our Bible to Psalms.\u00a0 Pastor Jim leads the study on Zoom; all you have to do is open your computer (or grab your phone or tablet), click the link, sit back and listen. If you’re the talkative type, you’ll have all kinds of opportunities to ask questions and to participate in discussion.\u00a0 \u00a0But if you’d rather click the mute button and just “sit at the feet of the Pastor” and learn something about the Bible (and to grow closer to God), you can do that too.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Tuesday Bible Study<\/span><\/h4>\n

DATES<\/span>:<\/strong>\u00a0 Every Tuesday (or most weeks, anyway)<\/span><\/p>\n

TIME<\/span><\/strong>:\u00a0 \u00a0 It starts at 1:30 PM.\u00a0 We usually wrap up by 2:30-2:45.<\/span><\/p>\n

PLACE<\/span><\/strong>:\u00a0 Wherever you want!\u00a0 It’s online.<\/span><\/p>\n

WHO:<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 It’s geared towards adults, but anyone is welcome.\u00a0 Man or Woman.<\/span><\/p>\n

MATERIALS<\/span><\/strong>:\u00a0 \u00a0Other than the Bible, there’s no book involved.\u00a0 And you can log in using a computer, tablet, or smartphone.\u00a0 You can even dial in using your “old fashioned” Telephone!<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div>\n
