He will rule with a powerful arm. See, he brings his reward with him as he comes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">11 He will feed his flock like a shepherd. He will carry the lambs in his arms, holding them close to his heart. He will gently lead the mother sheep with their young. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">12 Who else has held the oceans in his hand? Who has measured off the heavens with his fingers?Who else knows the weight of the earth or has weighed the mountains and hills on a scale?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">13 Who is able to advise the Spirit of the Lord? Who knows enough to give him advice or teach him?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">14 Has the Lord ever needed anyone&#8217;s advice? Does he need instruction about what is good? Did someone teach him what is right or show him the path of justice? <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">15 No, for all the nations of the world are but a drop in the bucket. They are nothing more than dust on the scales. He picks up the whole earth as though it were a grain of sand.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">16 All the wood in Lebanon&#8217;s forests and all Lebanon&#8217;s animals would not be enough to make a burnt offering worthy of our God.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">17 The nations of the world are worth nothing to him. In his eyes they count for less than nothing\u2014mere emptiness and froth. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">18 To whom can you compare God? What image can you find to resemble him?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">19 Can he be compared to an idol formed in a mold, overlaid with gold, and decorated with silver chains?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">20 Or if people are too poor for that, they might at least choose wood that won&#8217;t decay and a skilled craftsman to carve an image that won&#8217;t fall down! <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">21 Haven&#8217;t you heard? Don&#8217;t you understand? Are you deaf to the words of God\u2014the words he gave before the world began?Are you so ignorant?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">22 God sits above the circle of the earth. The people below seem like grasshoppers to him! He spreads out the heavens like a curtain and makes his tent from them.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">23 He judges the great people of the world and brings them all to nothing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">24 They hardly get started, barely taking root, when he blows on them and they wither. The wind carries them off like chaff. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">25 &#8220;To whom will you compare me? Who is my equal?&#8221; asks the Holy One. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">26 Look up into the heavens. Who created all the stars? He brings them out like an army, one after another, calling each by its name. Because of his great power and incomparable strength, not a single one is missing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">27 O Jacob, how can you say the Lord does not see your troubles? O Israel, how can you say God ignores your rights?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">28 Have you never heard? Have you never understood? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth. He never grows weak or weary. No one can measure the depths of his understanding.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">29 He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">30 Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">31 But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength.They will soar high on wings like eagles.They will run and not grow weary. All rights reserved.<\/address><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Awesome!<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>What is &#8220;Awesome&#8221;?\u00a0 Things like these?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1974- The Flyers won two Stanley Cups back to back:\u00a0 Awesome!<\/li>\n<li>2008- The Phillies won the World Series:\u00a0 Awesome!<\/li>\n<li>Anytime on a formerly quiet street- A car&#8217;s sound system&#8217;s subwoofers going Boom-ba-ba-Boom:\u00a0 Awesome (at least to the owners of the car).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Or God?\u00a0 We have a way of applying the word &#8220;Awesome&#8221; to both.\u00a0 But God can&#8217;t be compared to anything.\u00a0 Check out these passages from scripture:<\/p>\n<div class='et-box et-info'>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class='et-box-content'><ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Isaiah 40:25\u00a0 (&amp;18)\u00a0 &#8220;To whom will you compare me? Who is my equal?&#8221; asks the Holy One. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=1+sam+2%3A2&amp;version=NKJV\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">1 Samuel 2:2\u00a0<\/span><\/a>\u00a0 No one is holy like the Lord! There is no one besides you;\u00a0 there is no Rock like our God.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=col+1%3A16-17&amp;version=NKJV\" target=\"_blank\">Colossians\u00a0 1:16-17<\/a>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0 For by him [<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>the Son- Jesus<\/em><\/span>] all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him.\u00a0 He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.\u00a0 <\/span><\/div><\/div><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>So what really deserves the title &#8220;Awesome&#8221;?\u00a0 Subwoofers?\u00a0 Phillies?\u00a0 Flyers? Or God???\u00a0\u00a0 We shouldn&#8217;t use the same word to describe God and anything else.\u00a0 They can&#8217;t be compared.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #800000;\">God Cares about&#8230; Us!!!<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Even though God made the universe and even though He is truly AWESOME, He actually knows what we&#8217;re up to and wants to step into our lives and have a relationship with us.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Isaiah 40:22\u00a0 &#8220;The people below seem like grasshoppers to him!He spreads out the heavens like a curtain and makes his tent from them.&#8221;\u00a0 Close your eyes and imagine a warm summer&#8217;s evening.\u00a0 One of the sounds you&#8217;ll hear is the sound of crickets.\u00a0 We tune them out.\u00a0 They seem insignificant to us.\u00a0 Even though the size gap between us and crickets pales in comparison to the difference between God and us, God wants\u00a0 to step in and &#8220;make a tent&#8221; for us.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=col+1%3A16-17&amp;version=NKJV\" target=\"_blank\">Colossians 1:17<\/a><\/span>\u00a0 Jesus sustains creation.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=matthew+6%3A28-34&amp;version=NIV\" target=\"_blank\">Matthew 6:26, 28-30<\/a><\/span>\u00a0\u00a0<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> Our heavenly Father feeds the birds and clothes the lilies of the field.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&#8220;Do you not know?\u00a0 Have you not heard?&#8221;\u00a0 Why do we worry about life&#8217;s day to day problems and forget that &#8220;Our heavenly Father feeds the birds&#8221;?\u00a0 Could it be that we have limited God to our own &#8220;Subwoofer&#8221; concept of awesome?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\">+\u00a0\u00a0 +\u00a0\u00a0 +\u00a0\u00a0 +\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Here are Three points about God&#8217;s AWESOMENESS that we should constantly hold before us&#8230;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000080;\">1:\u00a0 God&#8217;s Awesome Hand<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>There are 912,500 cubic MILES of water on the earth.\u00a0 Verse 12 of our passage tells us that God holds all of it in the palm of His hand.\u00a0 How much water can you hold in your hand???\u00a0 What about the size of the universe or even of the distance between our little planet and the closest star (which we call the Sun)?\u00a0 It&#8217;s 93 million miles between us and the Sun.\u00a0 We have to measure things by the number of years it take light to travel.\u00a0 But God simply marks it off with the width of His hand.<\/p>\n<div class='et-box et-shadow'>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class='et-box-content'><span style=\"color: #000000;\">There&#8217;s hymn that most of us are familiar with: &#8220;He&#8217;s Got the Whole World in His Hands.&#8221;\u00a0 If you&#8217;re not familiar with this hymn, click the &#8220;Play&#8221; button and &#8220;follow the bouncing ball&#8221;&#8230;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Songs - Traditional - He&#039;s Got the Whole World in His Hands\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Ck6cCyvo5vo?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p><\/div><\/div>\n<div class='et-box et-info'>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class='et-box-content'><span style=\"color: #000000;\">If God has the whole world in His hands, why do we worry? If God has enough grace and love to give us an eternal home in heaven with Him, why do we worry about finances, or health, or other day to day problems like broken subwoofers?<\/span><\/div><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000080;\">2:\u00a0 God&#8217;s Awesome Handiwork<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>When we look at something like the Grand Canyon, or gaze at the stars on a clear night we feel awfully small.\u00a0 In Isaiah 40 God views things much bigger than us as &#8220;dust.&#8221;\u00a0 He sees us as &#8220;Crickets&#8221;\u00a0 Compared to God we could fade into the background like the feeble chirp of a late summer cricket.\u00a0 And yet&#8230; God chose to come to earth and live with us &#8220;crickets.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>We are all part of God&#8217;s plan- we&#8217;re not here by accident.\u00a0 We are God&#8217;s handiwork.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, God created this big &#8220;Awesome&#8221; universe so that we could catch a glimpse of His glory and begin to move into a closer relationship with Him.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=psalm+19&amp;version=NIV\" target=\"_blank\">Psalm 19:1<\/a><\/span>\u00a0 The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=psalm+50&amp;version=NIV\" target=\"_blank\">Psalm 50:6<\/a>\u00a0<\/span> The heavens proclaim His righteousness.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=psalm+97&amp;version=NIV\" target=\"_blank\">Psalm 97:6<\/a><\/span>\u00a0 All the peoples see His glory.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=romans+1%3A18-23&amp;version=NIV\" target=\"_blank\">Romans 1:19 -20<\/a><\/span>\u00a0 God&#8217;s eternal power and divine nature have been made clear.\u00a0 We have no excuse if we choose to doubt Him.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class='et-box et-info'>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class='et-box-content'><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Nobody had to sail around the globe to prove that the earth wasn&#8217;t flat&#8230;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Years before Columbus, God said that the world was round, not flat:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Isaiah 40: 22\u00a0\u00a0 God sits above the Circle of the Earth.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=job+22&amp;version=NKJV\" target=\"_blank\">Job 22:14<\/a>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #000000;\">God walks around the &#8220;roof&#8221; or &#8220;circle&#8221; of heaven<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=proverbs+8%3A27&amp;version=NKJV\" target=\"_blank\">Proverbs 8:27<\/a><\/span>\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #000000;\">God drew a &#8220;Circle&#8221; on the face of the deep.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">None of this round earth stuff should be a surprise-\u00a0 God&#8217;s always been behind creation.\u00a0 It&#8217;s not an accident.\u00a0 We&#8217;re part of a greater design, and God wants to connect with us.<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div>\n<div class='et-box et-info'>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class='et-box-content'><span style=\"color: #000000;\">If the thickness of a piece of paper were 93 million miles (the distance between the earth and the sun),\u00a0 It would take a stack of paper from here to Lynchburg VA to represent the distance to the nearest star.\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">And yet- God is outside of all of that.\u00a0 He&#8217;s bigger!\u00a0 When is the last time we felt totally overwhelmed with reverence and love and wonder by this Awesome God we love and who loves us?<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000080;\">3: God&#8217;s Awesome Hold on Us<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>God&#8217;s love for humanity won&#8217;t quit!\u00a0 Even though we&#8217;re as small as grasshoppers, God still cares about us. Isaiah <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=isaiah+49%3A14-16&amp;version=NKJV\" target=\"_blank\">49:16<\/a> <\/span>\u00a0 says that as a child of God, your name is written (&#8220;Tattooed&#8221;) in the palms of God&#8217;s hands. \u00a0 In <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=john+10&amp;version=NKJV\" target=\"_blank\">John 10:29<\/a><\/span>\u00a0 Jesus tells us that nobody can be snatched from His Hands.\u00a0 We&#8217;re safe.\u00a0 We&#8217;re guarded by the Good Shepherd&#8230; even though we&#8217;re puny grasshoppers.<\/p>\n<p>The challenge before us is to trust God&#8217;s Promises and not our feelings.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=galatians+2&amp;version=NKJV\" target=\"_blank\">Galatians 2:20<\/a><\/span> says that we have been &#8220;crucified with Christ.&#8221;\u00a0 Our life (and our &#8220;death to sin&#8221;) are so identified with Him that He will always be with us.\u00a0 Even though we&#8217;re puny grasshoppers, God has invested a lot into those who believe.\u00a0 If you were the only human being who needed saving,\u00a0 Jesus Christ still would have come down and died for you.<\/p>\n<p>In <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=john+20%3A19-31&amp;version=NKJV\" target=\"_blank\">John 20:20-31<\/a><\/span>, the disciples are hiding in a room with the doors locked &#8220;for fear of the Jews&#8221; (Jewish leaders).\u00a0 They&#8217;re afraid.\u00a0 They&#8217;re worried.\u00a0 And yet, Jesus comes and stands among them and tells them &#8220;peace be with you.&#8221;\u00a0 Peace.\u00a0 Whatever we are facing, Jesus is right in the midst of that situation\u00a0 What do we have to fear?<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Zechariah+2%3A10-11&amp;version=NKJV\" target=\"_blank\">Zechariah 2:10-11<\/a><\/span> tells us that God will come and &#8220;dwell in our midst&#8221;\u00a0 The AWESOME creator is with us.\u00a0 In our midst.\u00a0 In our problems, in our doubts, in our fears.<\/p>\n<p>Haven&#8217;t you heard?\u00a0 God never gets tired of us.\u00a0 &#8220;Come unto me all who are heavy laden and I will give you Rest&#8221;
