You ask a co-worker for help, and he responds, “I’ll get back to you on that as soon as I can…”\u00a0 Do you have a lot of confidence that he will really come to help you?\u00a0 The request probably went in one ear and out the other.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

But that’ s not the way God works.\u00a0 He made promises long ago and He keeps keeping them.\u00a0 Even in our day, during this pandemic, our God is patient with us and He won’t turn His back on us.\u00a0 <\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Pastor Jim submitted the following thoughts on May 3, 2021…<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

\nPLEASE READ: Exodus 34:5-6<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n\n\t\t

The Lord God came down in a cloud and stood beside Moses there on the mountain. God spoke his holy name, \u201c<\/span><\/em>the LORD<\/span><\/strong><\/span>.\u201d <\/span><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Then he passed in front of Moses and called out, \u201cI am the Lord God. I am merciful and very patient with my people. I show great love, and I can be trusted.<\/span><\/em><\/span> (Contemporary English Version)<\/p>\n\t\t<\/div> \n\t\t\t<\/div> \n\t\t<\/div> \n

\nA theme that is echoed throughout the pages of Scripture is that God is faithful to His people.\u00a0 Throughout much of the Old Testament we see God displaying profound faithfulness to His people.\u00a0 It is so comforting, even reassuring to note that God remains faithful to us!\u00a0\u00a0Isaiah\u00a054:10<\/a><\/span> says, “For the mountains shall depart And the hills be removed, But My kindness shall not depart from you, Nor shall My covenant of peace be removed,\u201d Says the Lord, who has mercy on you.<\/span><\/em>”\u00a0 (New King James Version).\u00a0\u00a0

\nThrough God’s covenant, God makes a commitment to His people. The psalmist understood the unspeakable joy of God’s faithfulness recorded in Psalms\u00a0121:5-8<\/a><\/span>, “The LORD watches over\u00a0you\u2014the LORD is your shade at your right hand;\u00a0the sun\u00a0will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night.\u00a0\u00a0The LORD will keep you from all harm\u2014he will watch over your life;\u00a0the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore<\/span><\/em>” (New\u00a0International\u00a0Version).\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Wow!\u00a0 Talk about a commitment, talk about faithfulness!\u00a0\u00a0

\nWhat an amazing gift that God\u00a0keeps giving to us; the gift of His\u00a0companionship and faithfulness to us in the abiding presence of the Holy Spirit.\u00a0 Before\u00a0being crucified on a cross Jesus promised, \u201cIf you love Me, you will keep My commandments.\u00a0\u00a0I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, so that He may be with you forever; the Helper is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him; but you know Him because He remains with you and will be in you<\/span><\/em>” (John 14:15-17<\/a><\/span> – New American Standard\u00a0Version).\u00a0

\nFriends, from Genesis to Revelation we are reminded of God’s faithfulness to us.\u00a0 That gives us confidence to live and enjoy each day!\u00a0 As an evangelist many years ago used to say, “Something good is going to happen to you!”\u00a0\u00a0God is faithful.\u00a0\u00a0Read the words of faith written by the psalmist in Psalms\u00a031:14-16<\/a><\/span>,<\/p>\n

“But as for me, I trust in You, Lord, I say, \u201cYou are my God.\u201d My times are in Your hand; Rescue me from the hand of my enemies and from those who persecute me. Make Your face shine upon Your servant;\u00a0 Save me in Your faithfulness<\/span><\/em>” (New American Standard Version).\u00a0<\/p>\n

\nSisters and Brothers, God is so faithful to us!\u00a0 Are we faithful to\u00a0God\u00a0in all that we do?\u00a0 May we continue to strive to be faithful and grow in our faithfulness to\u00a0God through Jesus Christ!\u00a0 Be blessed!
