(3\/28\/21)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\">News Flash:\u00a0 People are welcome to attend our morning worship service on Palm Sunday!\u00a0<\/span> <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">A little more than a year ago, it would have seemed ridiculous to post a statement like that a church website.\u00a0 But during this year of Covid and social distancing, it has not been safe for a congregation to gather inside our building.\u00a0 We&#8217;ve had to depend on Live Stream to worship.\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">When the pandemic numbers declined during last summer and into the fall, we opened for a congregation (between October 18 to December 20). When the number of hospitalizations and deaths began to climb again, we were forced to return to Live Stream Only during the Christmas season.\u00a0 But as more and more people get vaccinated, the hospitalizations and deaths are falling again.\u00a0 And, it&#8217;s looking more and more like we&#8217;re approaching the end of this difficult period.\u00a0 So, beginning with Palm Sunday (March 28), we will begin to allow a congregation again.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">But we&#8217;re not quite there yet, so we won&#8217;t let down our guard.\u00a0 The safety measures that we used back in the winter will remain in place.\u00a0 As the situation changes, the safety requirements will change.\u00a0 As we have been doing all along, we will evaluate the situation week to week.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>On March 13, Pastor Jim issued the following email message to announce the good news about Palm Sunday:<\/p>\n<div class='et-box et-shadow'>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class='et-box-content'><p><em><span style=\"color: #003300; font-size: 14pt;\">Grace and Peace to each of you in the name of Jesus Christ!\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p>\n<span style=\"color: #993366; font-size: 14pt;\">It is with joy we announce that PUMC will have &#8220;in person&#8221; worship again beginning on Palm Sunday, March 28. We will also have in person <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-17706 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/pitmanumc.org\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/PalmSun18-Narthex-_IMG_1576-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"169\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pitmanumc.org\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/PalmSun18-Narthex-_IMG_1576-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/pitmanumc.org\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/PalmSun18-Narthex-_IMG_1576.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/>worship on Maundy Thursday at 7:00pm, Good Friday at 7:00pm, and Easter Sunday at 10:15am. While there are those who still do not feel comfortable attending in person worship at this point, please know that you will still be able to worship via the <a href=\"https:\/\/pitmanumc.org\/wp\/?page_id=14867\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">live\u00a0stream<\/a> each Sunday at 10:15am.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #993366; font-size: 14pt;\">There are those who are anxious to return to in person worship.\u00a0\u00a0At this point to start, we will welcome 50 worshippers at each service (this is 50 people in the pews and does not include members of the Tech Team, Praise Team, Ushers, or Pastor).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #993366; font-size: 14pt;\">As we return to in person worship we will continue the safety practices advised by the CDC, the Insurance Company, Bishop, and what we were doing during the first return to <a href=\"https:\/\/pitmanumc.org\/wp\/?page_id=25791\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">in person\u00a0worship<\/a> back in October.\u00a0 For example:<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Who Should Attend&#8230;<\/span><\/h4>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 12pt;\">Persons experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19 or who are feeling unwell should not attend in-person worship.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 14pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Persons who have been exposed, or may have been exposed, to someone experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 or who have tested positive for the virus within the past 14 days of a given Sunday should not attend in-person worship.<\/span> <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #000080;\">When You Arrive&#8230;<\/span><\/h4>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 12pt;\">All attending worship will need to sign waivers (like before) as instructed by the Church Insurance Company.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 12pt;\">Seating will be on the main floor and not the balcony, for now.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #000080;\">During the Service&#8230;<\/span><\/h4>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 12pt;\">All persons will be masked for the entire service (the exception being the Praise Team and Pastor when singing\/speaking. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 12pt;\">Social distancing will be practiced when inside of the church building. This means remaining at least 6 feet apart from those not part of your family unit. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 12pt;\">Restrooms are available on the first floor next to the coat room.\u00a0 .\u00a0 <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 12pt;\">There shall be no \u201cpassing of the peace\u201d or similar expressions of greeting. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">O<\/span><span style=\"color: #993366;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">ffering plates will be available for offerings for your convenience as you enter or depart the sanctuary.<\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\n<span style=\"color: #993366; font-size: 14pt;\">Many of these things may be reviewed and adjusted as needed as things continue to change based on the guidelines of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/coronavirus\/2019-ncov\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CDC<\/a> and recommendations of the <a href=\"https:\/\/covid19.nj.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Governor<\/a> and Bishop.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #993366; font-size: 14pt;\">Please be sure to call the <a href=\"https:\/\/pitmanumc.org\/wp\/?page_id=619\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">church\u00a0office<\/a> (856) 589-8313 and schedule your attendance each week, for now.
