are still adorning our 2nd floor hallway&#8230;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #008000;\">HOW LONG:<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #000000;\">Each tile took at least 3 weeks to complete.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #008000;\">SIMILAR PROJECTS:<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0 <em><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Some guy named Michelangelo created his own version of ceiling tile art many years ago&#8230;<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-3505\" src=\"https:\/\/pitmanumc.org\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/Sistine-Chapel-_136-22_600x400-300x205.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"205\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pitmanumc.org\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/Sistine-Chapel-_136-22_600x400-300x205.jpg 300w, https:\/\/pitmanumc.org\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/Sistine-Chapel-_136-22_600x400.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p><\/div><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #800000;\">A Closer Look<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Ceilings.\u00a0 You probably don&#8217;t pay much attention to them as long as they&#8217;re doing their job.\u00a0 As long as there&#8217;s no water leaking through them and as long as the tiles aren&#8217;t stained, you&#8217;ll probably never notice them.\u00a0 But the ceiling in our 2nd floor hallway tells us a story that&#8217;s worth noticing.\u00a0 In fact, the story they tell is the only path to living a fulfilled life in harmony with our Creator.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The following pictures remove the ceiling and let us take a closer look at each tile and at the story of the hallway.\u00a0 Let&#8217;s take a walk&#8230; <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #008000;\">Tile 1:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Adam &amp; Eve&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;<\/span><\/h4>\n<table style=\"width: 97.0527%; Starting with Abraham and continuing through Joseph, He built a nation through which His Messiah could come.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Part of the growing pains came during the period of slavery in Egypt.\u00a0 But God&#8217;s purpose wouldn&#8217;t be thwarted.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Through Moses, a Hebrew child saved by an Egyptian princess, God freed His people, gave them His Law, and led them into the Promised Land.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/td>\n<td style=\"width: 45.7248%; (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=heb+9%3A19-22&amp;version=TLB\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Hebrews\u00a09:22<\/a><\/span>).\u00a0 When Adam and Eve noticed that they were naked, God provided garments of skin for them; blood was shed to cover their sin.\u00a0 The blood and death of Jesus seem like a terrible loss.\u00a0 But in reality it brought a glorious reconciliation between God and us. \nThe cross is not only a symbol of our faith.\u00a0 It is the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=1+cor+1%3A18&amp;version=TLB\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">power<\/a><\/span> that God used to restore us.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\t\t<\/div> \n\t\t<div class='et_slidecontent'>\n\t\t\t<table style=\"height: 328px; width: 100%; border-collapse: collapse;\" cellpadding=\"10\">\n<tbody>\n<tr style=\"height: 328px;\">\n<td style=\"width: 100%; height: 328px;\">\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Risen! <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-23726 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/pitmanumc.org\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/TileSection08e-Risen-_IMG_3925-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pitmanumc.org\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/TileSection08e-Risen-_IMG_3925-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/pitmanumc.org\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/TileSection08e-Risen-_IMG_3925.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>\n<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The crucifixion was victory.\u00a0 It was victory over physical death because Jesus rose from the grave.\u00a0 It is victory over spiritual death because our Lamb of God undid the curse that fell on all decedents of Adam and Eve.\u00a0 The resurrection proves that God has total power and that He <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=john+3%3A16-17&amp;version=TLB\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">loves<\/a><\/span> us enough to want to restore our relationship with Him.\nThe resurrection gives us an invitation to live the eternal life of purpose and meaning that God designed us to have.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div> <!-- .et-simple-slider -->\n\t\t\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class='et-box et-shadow'>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class='et-box-content'><h4><span style=\"color: #800000;\">There&#8217;s More!<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Tucked away inside the Art Room are two additional tiles which were never installed.\u00a0 One depicts the healing power of our Lord.\u00a0 Jesus healed people from <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=luke+8%3A26-39&amp;version=TLB\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">demons<\/a><\/span>, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=mark+5%3A25-34&amp;version=TLB\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">bleeding<\/a><\/span>, and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=mark+10%3A46-52&amp;version=TLB\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">blindness<\/a><\/span>.\u00a0 The other tile highlights the power the Jesus had over nature.\u00a0 He calmed a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=luke+8%3A22-25&amp;version=TLB\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">storm<\/a><\/span> and used a fish to provide payment of the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=matthew+17%3A24-27&amp;version=TLB\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">temple\u00a0tax<\/a><\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Jesus has the power to heal any of us.\u00a0 Physical healing is great, but Jesus gives us eternal healing that calms the storms at the core of our souls.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-23770\" src=\"https:\/\/pitmanumc.org\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/Tile-99-Extra-_IMG_3948-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pitmanumc.org\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/Tile-99-Extra-_IMG_3948-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/pitmanumc.org\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/Tile-99-Extra-_IMG_3948.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p><\/div><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">================<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Stop Look and Listen<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>When you approach a railroad crossing, you&#8217;re reminded to &#8220;Stop, Look, and Listen.&#8221;\u00a0 If your mind is elsewhere and you breeze through, you&#8217;re likely to miss something very important (like the lights of a freight train headed in your direction!).<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-2655 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/pitmanumc.org\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/Bible-Shelf-Wide-_0640-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"224\" height=\"168\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pitmanumc.org\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/Bible-Shelf-Wide-_0640-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/pitmanumc.org\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/Bible-Shelf-Wide-_0640.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 224px) 100vw, 224px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Unused Bibles&#8230; do we have a stack of dusty Bibles on our bookshelf?
