Take up Your Mat and Walk&#8221;<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Each year, women from a different country are chosen to design the World Day of Prayer services which are held globally.\u00a0 This year, women from Zimbabwe are organizing the service.\u00a0 The World Day of Prayer Committee of Zimbabwe has chosen <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=john+5%3A2-9&amp;version=NLT\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">John\u00a05: 2-9<\/a><\/span> as their theme for World Day of Prayer 2020.\u00a0 In this passage, Jesus heals a paralytic and then commands him to &#8220;Stand up, pick up your mat, and walk!\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>We may not be able to perform miracles of physical healing like Jesus did, but we are called to pray for peace and reconciliation. Men, women and children are all invited to participate.<\/p>\n<h5><span style=\"color: #008000;\">Why?<\/span><\/h5>\n<p>This global movement, begun in the U.S. in 1920, promotes justice and equality for women through prayer, partnership, service and celebration.
