Welcome to Advent! The calendar says 2019, but for most of us it’s easy to look back and wonder what happened to the past year.\u00a0 Is it really Christmas Already?!?<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

But Advent is a time to look FORWARD.\u00a0 Memories abound and our rear view mirrors are filled with thoughts of years past.\u00a0 But this season calls us to look forward.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

During this Advent Season, what are you looking forward to?\u00a0 All of the “jobs” that need to be done like putting up the Christmas Tree, doing the shopping, sending out cards?\u00a0 Or is there something deeper?\u00a0 Something that calls us every year but which constantly eludes us?\u00a0 <\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

This page gives you access to 27 days of devotionals which are intended to help you discover what to look forward to. \u00a0 Just what is the “Real Reason for the Season”?\u00a0 Who is this Jesus?\u00a0 What does He mean for my life? Use these devotionals and this year’s Advent season to explore those questions.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Daily Devotions for Advent 2019<\/span><\/h3>\n

The devotional is presented in PDF format. Instead of presenting the entire booklet in one file (and forcing you to scroll through the whole thing to find the current date’s article), the booklet is broken up into\u00a0 separate week-by-week files.\"\"<\/p>\n

To read the article for any given date, scroll down to the week you want and click on the button. This year is a bit unusual in that the first Sunday in Advent happens to be the first DAY of December.\u00a0 The devotional begins on Saturday November 30 (we’ll call that “Week 0”).\u00a0 After that, all of the files begin with Sunday and run through Saturday of the indicated week (except for week 4, which ends on Thursday- the day after Christmas).<\/p>\n

Regardless of the calendar details, Advent is a time to look forward.\u00a0 During these next 27 days, use this devotional to look forward to Jesus; to grow in the joy of an ever deepening relationship with our Lord and Savior.<\/p>\n

The booklets were published in hardcopy form and distributed within the participating churches.\u00a0 But electronic copies of the devotions are presented here so that you can use the devotionals “on the go” and so that you can easily share them with others who don’t have access to the printed booklets.<\/span><\/p>\n
