 <\/p>\n

We’re using our crafting talents to help people in our neighborhood and around the globe.\u00a0 Who would have thought that painting, crocheting, or knitting could be used to provide people with clean drinking water or to give a pregnant woman a ride to her doctor’s office?\u00a0 God gives us all sorts of talents (“gifts”) so that we can use them to get help to people who are in need.
\n<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Do all the good you can…<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Christ calls us to “feed the hungry, clothe the naked, visit the prisoners…”<\/p>\n\n\t\t

\n\t\t\t

“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the creation of the world. <\/span><\/p>\n

For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home.\u00a0 I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me.<\/span>‘<\/p>\n

Using whatever means you can…<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

John Wesley (our denomination’s founder) put some practical advice to Jesus’ command when he famously said that we should use any means we can to help people.\u00a0 This means that we should use our imagination.\u00a0 To think “outside the box” and use whatever talents are at our disposal….\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\t\t

\n\t\t\tDo all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as ever you can.<\/span><\/em>\n\t\t<\/div> \n\t\t\t<\/div> \n\t\t<\/div> \n

And so, our “Scrappy Quilters” are making quilts to “feed the hungry, clothe the naked, visit the prisoners…”\u00a0 Enter the Christmas Marketplace!<\/p>\n

Christmas Marketplace<\/span><\/h3>\n

On November 16, we’ll hold our “Second Annual(?)” Christmas Marketplace.\u00a0 This marketplace will feature the arts and crafts from members of our church and community.\u00a0 Proceeds from the sales of these items will go to “do good.”<\/p>\n

Part of the proceeds will fund the mission work of our United Methodist Women, and part will be sent to UMCOR<\/a><\/span> (United Methodist Committee on Relief) to help provide clean drinking water to people around the world.<\/p>\n
