LaPalmilla worshipers in the still uncompleted sanctuary.<\/p><\/div>\n

For 19 years, a United Methodist church in La Palmilla, Mexico has been bursting at the seams and has been in need of a new sanctuary.\u00a0 Unfortunately, they lack the funds needed to hire contractors to do the construction, so they’ve been doing it themselves!\u00a0 And so, for many years our church (and others) has contributed to this effort by sending money and by sending mission teams.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The sanctuary is nearly completed!\u00a0 But, there is still some work left to be done: the balcony, choir loft, and other areas remain unfinished.\u00a0<\/p>\n

This was the fourth year that we have hosted this Praise Band Concert. During the concert, a love offering was taken, and over $2000 was raised to help our brothers and sisters in La Palmilla Mexico. God is at work!<\/p>\n

To help them cross the “finish line”,\u00a0 four local churches joined with PUMC to produce an evening of Praise and Worship in our sanctuary.\u00a0 Worship teams from Richwood UMC, Washington Baptist, Trinity UMC, and First Glassboro UMC loaded up their guitars, keyboards, and amps and brought them to our sanctuary, and each team sang three songs.\u00a0 The congregation was 150 strong, and everyone left inspired by the music and fellowship.<\/p>\n

This was the fourth year that we have hosted this Praise Band Concert.<\/p>\n

During the concert, a love offering was taken, and over $2000 was raised to help our brothers and sisters in La Palmilla Mexico.\u00a0 God is at work!<\/p>\n

In Concert…<\/span><\/h3>\n

The evening began with PUMC’s rendition of the song “Come Now is the Time to Worship,” and then the local team went into its set of songs:<\/p>\n

  • I God Saved<\/li>\n
  • Broken Vessels (Amazing Grace)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    After the other bands had sung, Pitman’s Chris Valianti sang his rendition of the Ray Bolts song “Shepherd Boy” (while Jennifer Andrade interpreted using sign language).<\/p>\n
