{"id":1569,"date":"2014-04-20T07:41:05","date_gmt":"2014-04-20T11:41:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pitmanumc.org\/wp\/?p=1569"},"modified":"2014-08-15T08:16:21","modified_gmt":"2014-08-15T12:16:21","slug":"community-sunrise-easter-service-42014","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pitmanumc.org\/wp\/?p=1569","title":{"rendered":"Community Sunrise Easter Service (4\/20\/14)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Many in our community began their Easter Sundays by attending the community Sunrise Service which was held at the Alcyon Lake Park Pavilion.\u00a0 This year&#8217;s service was coordinated by the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/pitmanpres.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">First Presbyterian Church of Pitman<\/a><\/span>, and the service was led by their pastor, Rev. Pat Weikart.\u00a0 Several other local pastors took part in the reading of litany and scripture.\u00a0 The Presbyterian Church&#8217;s bell choir led the music.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The scripture readings focused on God&#8217;s protective and life giving hand&#8230; <\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Genesis tells us how God made the world and us&#8230;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Exodus shows us how God led the Israelites out of Egypt and into the Promised Land<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Ezekiel shows us how God can make life out of dead bones&#8230;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Matthew tells us how God brought &#8220;death&#8221; to sin and death through the resurrection of or Lord and Savior.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5><span style=\"color: #800080;\">There is no more death for those who are in Christ Jesus.\u00a0 He is Risen!!!<\/span><\/h5>\n<p>Check out the bulletin \/ order of worship that was used during this service: <a href=\"https:\/\/pitmanumc.org\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/Easter2014-SunriseBulletin.pdf\">Easter2014-SunriseBulletin<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Many in our community began their Easter Sundays by attending the community Sunrise Service which was held at the Alcyon Lake Park Pavilion.\u00a0 This year&#8217;s service was coordinated by the First Presbyterian Church of Pitman, and the service was led by their pastor, Rev.
