{"id":12078,"date":"2016-07-16T13:12:24","date_gmt":"2016-07-16T17:12:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pitmanumc.org\/wp\/?p=12078"},"modified":"2019-07-25T08:27:03","modified_gmt":"2019-07-25T12:27:03","slug":"parents-anonymous-group-begins-meeting-at-pumc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pitmanumc.org\/wp\/?p=12078","title":{"rendered":"Parent&#8217;s Anonymous Group Begins Meeting at PUMC!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Being a parent is probably the most important job you&#8217;ll ever have&#8230; and it&#8217;s the most difficult&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1334 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/pitmanumc.org\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/Library-Mom-Kid.jpg\" alt=\"Library-Mom-Kid\" width=\"131\" height=\"197\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Do you have teenager?\u00a0 Are you worried about what they&#8217;re tweeting or posting?\u00a0 Are you suddenly in the throws of having to find a college and helping your teen get a driver&#8217;s license?<\/li>\n<li>Or maybe your child is younger.\u00a0 What do you do when the baby keeps waking you up throughout the night?\u00a0 What do you do when your son is bullied at school? Where do you turn when your child is diagnosed with autism or ADHD?<\/li>\n<li>Or maybe you&#8217;re in that older stage where your daughter has grown up and is in the process of spreading her wings and moving out on her own.\u00a0 How much do you let go and how much do you protect???<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The good news, is that you&#8217;re not alone!\u00a0 Others are dealing with the same questions and are ready to lend their support; others have dealt with the same questions and are ready to offer advice.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Hope for When Parenting Gets Tough&#8230;<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>A new support group called Parents Anonymous has begun meeting at PUMC. (<em><span style=\"color: #993366;\">Note that this is not a ministry organized by PUMC, but we support them with our prayers and through the use of our building<\/span><\/em>).<\/p>\n<p>We meet on <span style=\"background-color: #00ff00;\"><strong>Thursday nights from 6:00 to 8:00 PM<\/strong><\/span>, and our meetings are held in the second floor of the <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-11897\" src=\"https:\/\/pitmanumc.org\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/Father-road-995343__180-400x300-300x224.jpg\" alt=\"Father-road-995343__180 400x300\" width=\"222\" height=\"166\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pitmanumc.org\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/Father-road-995343__180-400x300-300x224.jpg 300w, https:\/\/pitmanumc.org\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/Father-road-995343__180-400x300.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 222px) 100vw, 222px\" \/>education wing (enter via the main doors from the parking lot and head up the stairs or elevator that are on your left).\u00a0\u00a0 During the meetings we support each other through difficult and happy times. It&#8217;s a safe place to vent life&#8217;s frustrations and try to brainstorm solutions. Parents Anonymous started many years ago as a way to prevent child abuse by parents supporting each other through challenges.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to building a support network, we focus on exploring topics like ADHD, Oppositional Defiance, Mental Health, Social Media, Special Education &amp; the IEP Process, We have partnered occasionally with NAMI, SPAN and we have done the Total Transformation System.
