Sticks and stones can break my bones…\u00a0 But can words hurt?\u00a0 Even more importantly, can words Help???\u00a0 <\/em><\/p>\n

Lay Speaker Jim Kier helped us see the power of words during his sermon of 5\/29\/16.\u00a0 Jim was filling in for Pastor Jim Bolton who is on vacation.<\/em><\/p>\n

Luke 7:1-10<\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n\t\t\t\t\t

1 When Jesus had finished saying all this in the hearing of the people, he entered Capernaum.<\/p>\n

2 There a centurion’s servant, whom his master valued highly, was sick and about to die.<\/p>\n

3 The centurion heard of Jesus and sent some elders of the Jews to him, asking him to come and heal his servant.<\/p>\n

4 When they came to Jesus, they pleaded earnestly with him, “This man deserves to have you do this,<\/p>\n

5 because he loves our nation and has built our synagogue.”<\/p>\n

6 So Jesus went with them. He was not far from the house when the centurion sent friends to say to him: “Lord, don’t trouble yourself, for I do not deserve to have you come under my roof.<\/p>\n

7 That is why I did not even consider myself worthy to come to you. But say the word, and my servant will be healed.<\/p>\n

8 For I myself am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. I tell this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and that one, ‘Come,’ and he comes. I say to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.”<\/p>\n

9 When Jesus heard this, he was amazed at him, and turning to the crowd following him, he said, “I tell you, I have not found such great faith even in Israel.”<\/p>\n

10 Then the men who had been sent returned to the house and found the servant well.<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n

Spoken into Existence!<\/span><\/h3>\n

Today\u2019s message came from a sermon Rev. Bolton gave several weeks ago. What he said has been rolling around my mind. The background came from the creation words in Genesis. Gen. 1:3…<\/span><\/p>\n

\n

And God said<\/span>, \u201cLet there be light,\u201d and there was light.<\/span> <\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

We continue with verses 6, 9, 11, 14, 20, 22, 24, 26, 28, 29….\u00a0 Everything was Spoken into existence!\u00a0 And God said… and it was! \n\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t
