What is Heifer International?<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\t\t\t\t\tHeifer International’s mission is to\u00a0work with communities to end hunger and poverty and care for the Earth. They help poor and hungry people help themselves. By giving families a hand-up, not just a handout, they are empowered to turn hunger and poverty into hope and prosperity.![\"Heifer](\"https:\/\/pitmanumc.org\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/Heifer-_logo.png\")
<\/p>\nThe animals purchased don’t just provide a reliable source of food, but also a reliable source of income. Extra agricultural products, such as milk from cows or goats, honey from bees or eggs from chickens, can be both shared within the community and sold at market. This new income, coupled with the training in sustainable practices that Heifer International provides, allows others to clothe their families, provide them with medical care and send their children to school.\u00a0 When not just one but many families gain this new sustainable produce and income, it brings new opportunities for building\u00a0schools, creating agricultural co-ops, and forming community savings and loan groups to help fund entrepreneurial start-ups.<\/p>\n
It’s a lofty goal, but it is happening! In communities around the world, Heifer International is helping people lift themselves from hunger and poverty.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\n

Here’s Where the Money Went…<\/span><\/h3>\nThe children enjoyed learning about the different animals and the different ways that they can help children in third world countries.\u00a0 Money has been collected and voting has been done.\u00a0 Collectively, as a school, we collected a total of $500!!\u00a0 That is FANTASTIC!!\u00a0 Our Father\u2019s House Preschool DOES make a difference in the world!!\u00a0 Below is what the children voted to purchase and donate with this money collected:<\/p>\n

Up ‘n Coming for Our Father’s House…<\/span><\/h3>\nWe’re nearing the end of the 2015-2016 school year!\u00a0 Our final day of classes will be on Friday June 3.\u00a0 But, we’re not done yet!<\/p>\n
\n\t\t\t\t\tGraduation!<\/span><\/h4>\nOur four year old graduation will be held in our Sanctuary on Thursday, May 26 at 9:30 A.M<\/strong><\/span>. This will be for all of our four year olds. After the ceremony in the sanctuary, we will all meet at Atkinson Park where we have reserved the pavilion for our graduation celebration!! \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nHere’s a glimpse of last year’s graduation…<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\nOur Father’s House Celebrates the Class of 2015!
