Youth- sometimes our Youth Group (BLAST- B<\/span><\/strong>ig L<\/span><\/strong>oud A<\/span><\/strong>wesome S<\/span><\/strong>piritual T<\/span><\/strong>ime) occupies themselves by spreading gop and goo<\/a>.\u00a0 Sometimes they go on roller coasters or climb\u00a0rocks<\/a>.\u00a0 But sometimes they have a blast with a fast.\u00a0 A BLAST… by not eating???\u00a0 Teenagers???\"BLAST<\/p>\n

Yep!\u00a0 BLAST also has a blast by helping others.\u00a0 Last year we served breakfast<\/a> at a homeless shelter, raised over a ton (literally) of food for the Pitman Food Pantry<\/a>, and participated in many other ministries to help us learn more about God and to serve Him more.<\/p>\n

But on the weekend of May 6-7, we’re going to go without food and raise money to fight world hunger.<\/p>\n

30 Hour Famine<\/span><\/h3>\n

The “30\u00a0Hour\u00a0Famine<\/a><\/span>” is an event organized by World\u00a0Vision<\/a><\/span>.\u00a0 World Vision is a Christian organization dedicated to relieving poverty and injustice for children around the world.\u00a0 The moto of the Famine is “Go hungry to help hungry kids.”<\/p>\n

And that’s what we’re going to do.\u00a0 Starting on Friday and ending on Saturday evening we’ll go on a juice diet to learn what it means to be hungry.\u00a0 We’ll spend an overnight “lock-in” at the church to keep us going and to learn about kids who are hungry for much longer than 30 hours.\u00a0 Here’s our schedule:<\/p>\n
