Come and see the place where he lay.<\/p>\n<p>7 Then go quickly and tell his disciples: &#8216;He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.&#8217; Now I have told you.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>8 So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples.<\/p>\n<p>9 Suddenly Jesus met them. &#8220;Greetings,&#8221; he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him.<\/p>\n<p>10 Then Jesus said to them, &#8220;Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #800000;\">It&#8217;s Now or Never&#8230;<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>On Easter, every preacher is tempted to overstate the familiar message.\u00a0 So let&#8217;s be like the chicken that decided to lay an egg on the California freeway.\u00a0 The rooster said:<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000080;\">&#8220;Here&#8217;s how you do it- Lay it on the line and do it in a hurry!&#8221;<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #800000;\">All Shook Up&#8230;<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Does the resurrection affect you?\u00a0 Anyone alive in the 60s and 70s can remember the Apollo moonshots.\u00a0 Here&#8217;s a description from Joe Needleman about the launch of <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Apollo_17\" target=\"_blank\">Apollo 17<\/a> (the last moon landing), which occurred in 1975.\u00a0 This account was included in Bill Moyer&#8217;s book &#8220;A World of Ideas II&#8221;&#8230;<\/p>\n<div class='et-box et-shadow'>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class='et-box-content'><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> I was an observer at the launch of Apollo 17 in 1975.\u00a0 It was a night launch&#8230; and there were hundreds of cynical reporters all over the lawn; wisecracking, and waiting for this 35 story high rocket&#8230;. <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-10976\" src=\"https:\/\/pitmanumc.org\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/apollo-16-877336_960_720-_400x300-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"apollo-16-877336_960_720 _400x300\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pitmanumc.org\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/apollo-16-877336_960_720-_400x300-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/pitmanumc.org\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/apollo-16-877336_960_720-_400x300.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The countdown came, and then the launch.\u00a0 The first thing you see is the extraordinary orange light, which is just at the limit of what you can bear to look at.\u00a0 Everything takes a few seconds for the sound to come across.\u00a0 You hear a WHOOOOOOSH\u00a0 HMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!\u00a0 It enters right into you&#8230;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">You can practically hear jaws dropping.\u00a0 The sense of wonder fills everyone in the whole place, as this thing goes up and up.\u00a0 The first stage ignites this beautiful blue flame.\u00a0 It becomes like a star, but you realize there are humans on it.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">And then there&#8217;s total silence&#8230;<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div>\n<p>What do you think it would have been like to observe the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the grave?\u00a0 I suspect you would have experienced something similar to what Jacob Needleman experienced at the Apollo 17 launch.\u00a0 On this Easter, is our relationship with God taking off like a rocket?\u00a0 Or, is it all too familiar and routine?<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #003366;\">Does the Resurrection have any effect on you at all???<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Goin&#8217; Out of My Head, Over You&#8230;<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>During the crucifixion and resurrection, Nature got it.\u00a0 All of this was a big deal; nothing routine about it.\u00a0 Nature was listening to Frankie Valle and the Four Seasons and was going out of its head&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\t\t<div class='et-simple-slider et_sliderfx_slide et_sliderauto_true et_sliderauto_speed_4001 et_slidertype_simple'>\n\t\t\t<div class='et-simple-slides'>\n\t\t\t\t<div class='et-tabs-content-wrapper'>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class='et_slidecontent'>\n\t\t\t<span style=\"color: #000080;\">There was a violent earthquake&#8230;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>(Matthew 28:2)\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t<div class='et_slidecontent'>\n\t\t\t<span style=\"color: #000080;\">From the sixth hour until the ninth hour darkness came over all the land&#8230;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>(Matthew 27:45 )\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t<div class='et_slidecontent'>\n\t\t\t<span style=\"color: #000080;\">At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom&#8230;.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>(Matthew 27:51)\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t<div class='et_slidecontent'>\n\t\t\t<span style=\"color: #000080;\">The earth shook and the rocks split&#8230;.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>(Matthew 27:51)\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t<div class='et_slidecontent'>\n\t\t\t<span style=\"color: #000080;\">The tombs broke open&#8230;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>(Matthew 27:52)\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t<div class='et_slidecontent'>\n\t\t\t<span style=\"color: #000080;\">The bodies of many holy people who had died were raised to life&#8230;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>(Matthew 27:52)\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div> <!-- .et-simple-slider -->\n\t\t\n<p>The crucifixion and the resurrection set nature spinning out of control.\u00a0 It knocked creation off balance.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">When the centurion and those with him who were guarding Jesus saw the earthquake and all that had happened, they were terrified, and exclaimed, &#8220;Surely he was the Son of God!&#8221;\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0 Matt 27:54<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>And this isn&#8217;t the only event in history where we see creation reacting and responding to the presence of the Lord.\u00a0 Take a look at the following&#8230;\n\t\t\t<div class='et-tabs-container et_sliderfx_fade et_sliderauto_false et_sliderauto_speed_5000 et_slidertype_top_tabs'>\n\t\t\t\t<ul class='et-tabs-control'>\n\t\t\t<li><a href='#'>\n\t\t\tPsalm 104\n\t\t<\/a><\/li> \n\t\t<li><a href='#'>\n\t\t\tNahum\n\t\t<\/a><\/li> \n\t\t<li><a href='#'>\n\t\t\tPsalm 114\n\t\t<\/a><\/li> \n\t\t<li><a href='#'>\n\t\t\tJob\n\t\t<\/a><\/li> \n\t\t<li><a href='#'>\n\t\t\tPsalm 97\n\t\t<\/a><\/li> \n\t\t<li><a href='#'>\n\t\t\tExodus\n\t\t<\/a><\/li> \n\t\t<li><a href='#'>\n\t\t\tHabakkuk\n\t\t<\/a><\/li> \n\t\t<li><a href='#'>\n\t\t\tRevelation\n\t\t<\/a><\/li>\n\t\t<\/ul> <!-- .et-tabs-control --> \n\t\t<div class='et-tabs-content'>\n\t\t\t<div class='et-tabs-content-main-wrap'>\n\t\t\t\t<div class='et-tabs-content-wrapper'>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class='et_slidecontent'>\n\t\t\tPsalm 104:32<\/p>\n<p>He who looks at the earth, and it trembles, who touches the mountains, and they smoke.\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t<div class='et_slidecontent'>\n\t\t\tNahum 1:5<\/p>\n<p>The mountains quake before him and the hills melt away. The earth trembles at his presence, the world and all who live in it.\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t<div class='et_slidecontent'>\n\t\t\tPsalm 114:7<\/p>\n<p>Tremble, O earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob&#8230;\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t<div class='et_slidecontent'>\n\t\t\tJob 26:11<\/p>\n<p>The pillars of the heavens quake, aghast at his rebuke.\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t<div class='et_slidecontent'>\n\t\t\tPsalm 97:4-5<\/p>\n<p>His lightning lights up the world; the earth sees and trembles.\nThe mountains melt like wax before the Lord, before the Lord of all the earth.\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t<div class='et_slidecontent'>\n\t\t\tExodus 19:18<\/p>\n<p>Mount Sinai was covered with smoke, because the Lord descended on it in fire. The smoke billowed up from it like smoke from a furnace, the whole mountain trembled violently&#8230;\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t<div class='et_slidecontent'>\n\t\t\tHabakkuk 3:10<\/p>\n<p>The mountains saw you and writhed. Torrents of water swept by; the deep roared and lifted its waves on high.\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t<div class='et_slidecontent'>\n\t\t\tRevelation 20:11<\/p>\n<p>Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. Earth and sky fled from his presence, and there was no place for them.\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div> <!-- .et-tabs-container --><\/p>\n<p><strong><em><span style=\"color: #003366;\">Then how can we treat Easter as just another Holiday, instead of the Holy Day that it is?<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Shake Rattle and Roll&#8230;<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>If the earth responds to the presence of the Lord, how is it that God&#8217;s people don&#8217;t &#8220;shake Rattle and Roll&#8221; at His presence?\u00a0 Or even if they do, it&#8217;s reduced to a &#8220;tip of the hat&#8221; Easter Celebration that happens once a year.\u00a0 Why???<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-6198\" src=\"https:\/\/pitmanumc.org\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/Crucifixion-_Evgraf_Semenovich_Sorokin-300x253.jpg\" alt=\"Crucifixion _Evgraf_Semenovich_Sorokin\" width=\"155\" height=\"131\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pitmanumc.org\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/Crucifixion-_Evgraf_Semenovich_Sorokin-300x253.jpg 300w, https:\/\/pitmanumc.org\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/Crucifixion-_Evgraf_Semenovich_Sorokin.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 155px) 100vw, 155px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Do we not understand that Jesus died a very painful death because of you and me?\u00a0 We tend to wave palms on Palm Sunday, and then skip past Maundy Thursday and Good Friday so we can celebrate Easter Morning.\u00a0 But there is no value in the resurrection without Good Friday.\u00a0 There&#8217;s no forgiveness without the suffering and death that Jesus endured before Easter Morning.<\/p>\n<p>God doesn&#8217;t wink at sin.\u00a0 And to see how serious sin is, you&#8217;ve got to look at Good Friday.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Precious and Few are the Moments We Share&#8230;<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Day after Day, Night After Night, God teaches us of His salvation.\u00a0 He calls us to do the same and share the power of the resurrection with others.\u00a0 Not just on the Monday after Easter, but Day after Day.\u00a0 Day in and day out all of creation is &#8220;Rockin&#8217; and Rollin'&#8221; with God.\u00a0 The resurrection isn&#8217;t a one and done thing.\u00a0 We keep experiencing it.\u00a0 We Keep sharing it.\u00a0 Here&#8217;s how Eugene Peterson paraphrases David&#8217;s words in Psalm 119:1-2&#8230;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">God&#8217;s glory is on tour in the skies, God-craft on exhibit across the horizon. <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Madame Day holds classes every morning, Professor Night lectures each evening.<\/span> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 8pt; color: #808080;\">(from THE MESSAGE: The Bible in Contemporary Language \u00a9 2002 by Eugene H. Or who is my equal?&#8221; says the Holy One.\u00a0 Lift your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these? He who brings out the starry host one by one, and calls them each by name. Because of his great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing.\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div> <!-- .et-tabs-container -->\n<p>God uses Creation to declare His glory.\u00a0 Can He use you???<\/p>\n<p>Does the resurrection affect you?\u00a0 Do the people&#8230;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>you work with,<\/li>\n<li>go to school with,<\/li>\n<li>play golf with,<\/li>\n<li>go bowling with,<\/li>\n<li>go shopping with,<\/li>\n<li>sip tea with&#8230;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Do they know that you&#8217;re a Christian?\u00a0 Do your friends and associated know that you like &#8220;Rocking and Rolling&#8221; with Jesus?\u00a0 Do you take advantage of those &#8220;precious and few&#8221; opportunities to share with them your precious moments with the Savior?<\/p>\n<p><strong><em><span style=\"color: #003300;\">Jesus didn&#8217;t die for a religion; He died for a relationship!<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #800000;\">He Lives&#8230; Within My Heart!<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>To know the power of the resurrection and to feel its affects we must Experience it.\u00a0 It&#8217;s not enough to observe it as a historical event.\u00a0 Head knowledge isn&#8217;t good enough.\u00a0 We must get it into our hearts.\u00a0 We must live it.\u00a0 It must become a part of us.<\/p>\n<p>Alfred Ackley expressed the power of the resurrection so well&#8230;<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><em><span style=\"color: #800080;\">He Lives, He lives, salvation to impart!<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><em><span style=\"color: #800080;\">You ask me how I know He lives, He lives within my heart!<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>He lives within my heart.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Once you experience something, you&#8217;ll never forget it.\u00a0 It will live within your heart.\u00a0 It will endure in your memories.\u00a0 To experience the resurrection is to let it to become imprinted on your mind and to allow it to change your focus and outlook.<\/p>\n<div class='et-box et-bio'>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class='et-box-content'><p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #000080;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a style=\"color: #000080; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/pitmanumc.org\/wp\/?p=10939\" target=\"_blank\">Experience the Sonrise Every Day!<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0 <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-10938\" src=\"https:\/\/pitmanumc.org\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Signboard-2016-03-26-Sonrise-_IMG_3152-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"Signboard 2016-03-26 Sonrise _IMG_3152\" width=\"191\" height=\"143\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pitmanumc.org\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Signboard-2016-03-26-Sonrise-_IMG_3152-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/pitmanumc.org\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Signboard-2016-03-26-Sonrise-_IMG_3152.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 191px) 100vw, 191px\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 14pt;\">No, that&#8217;s not a misspelling.\u00a0 During Pastor Jim&#8217;s sermon, the signboard outside of our sanctuary declared the same message&#8230;<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p><\/div><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #000080;\">The Angels Experienced the Resurrection<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-10997 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/pitmanumc.org\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/GordensCal-OutTomb_Small55-19-300x223.jpg\" alt=\"Gordens Calvary garden tomb \" width=\"200\" height=\"149\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pitmanumc.org\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/GordensCal-OutTomb_Small55-19-300x223.jpg 300w, https:\/\/pitmanumc.org\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/GordensCal-OutTomb_Small55-19.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>On their way to the tomb, the women asked on another &#8220;<strong><em><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">who will roll the stone away?<\/span><\/em><\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>As it turned out, God had already thought of that and He provided an angel to do the heavy lifting.\u00a0 The angel who rolled back the stone came along with his own &#8220;ELO Light Show.&#8221;\u00a0 Matthew tells us that he rolled back the stone and defiantly sat on it&#8230;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong><em><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow.<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>What&#8217;s so cool here is the audacity of the angel who basically disrespects the government and the religious leaders (who sealed that heavy stone in place).\u00a0 The angel &#8220;Rocks and Rolls&#8221; the stone and then sits on it!\u00a0 It&#8217;s as if the angel was anticipating the Christian Contemporary song by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lyricsfreak.com\/d\/dallas+holm\/rise+again_20808653.html\" target=\"_blank\">Dallas\u00a0Holmes <\/a>which says in part,<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><em><span style=\"color: #800080;\">Go ahead and say I&#8217;m dead and gone, (But) you will see that you were wrong.<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><em><span style=\"color: #800080;\">Go ahead, try to hide the Son, But all will see that I&#8217;m the one.\u00a0 <\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><em><span style=\"color: #800080;\">Because I&#8217;ll rise again.l\u00a0 Ain&#8217;t no power on earth can keep me back.<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>When the angel sat on the big rock that had been rolled away, he proclaimed the triumph of completed work.\u00a0 The angel wasn&#8217;t just there.\u00a0 It wasn&#8217;t just his job.\u00a0 He was &#8220;into it.&#8221;\u00a0 He Experienced the resurrection and proclaimed God&#8217;s glory.<\/p>\n<p>Our sins are no match for God!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #000080;\">The Guards Experienced the Resurrection<\/span><\/h4>\n<p>The experience of the guards may not have been as pleasant, but they certainly felt the effects of the resurrection.\u00a0 Matthew 28:4 tells us that they &#8220;became like dead men.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>They stood as corpses.\u00a0 They shook in their sandals, longer than the ground shook during the earthquake.\u00a0 The ones keeping watch over the dead became as dead.\u00a0 They were scared stiff.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #000080;\">The Women Experienced the Resurrection<\/span><\/h4>\n<p>When the women got up early in the morning, they were feeling pretty sad and depressed.\u00a0\u00a0 But when they left the tomb, they may have been singing &#8220;Jesus is my Rock and He Rolled my Blues Away&#8221;!<\/p>\n<p>They came to anoint Jesus&#8217; body with spices to give Him a more appropriate embalming and funeral service.\u00a0 En route they were concerned about who would move the stone for them.\u00a0 But once they saw the stone rolled away and Experienced what was going on, they became filled with wonder and joy.<\/p>\n<p>The good news of His resurrection became their message to share.<\/p>\n<div class='et-box et-info'>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class='et-box-content'><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Did you connect the dots with me?\u00a0 Everyone present that day felt the effect of the resurrection.\u00a0 They EXPERIENCED the resurrection.\u00a0 They were hit by a life changing power and nothing was the same afterwards.\u00a0 They were moved and they wanted to tell others. <em><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">It&#8217;s OK to be a Holy Roller!<\/span><\/em>&#8230;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">In Moses&#8217; time, while the Israelites were wandering through the desert, some of them wanted to return to Egypt.\u00a0 They preferred the comfort of slavery to the uncertainty of freedom.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">But once you&#8217;ve Experienced the resurrection and encountered the living Christ, you can&#8217;t go back<\/span>.<\/div><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #000080;\">The Emmaus Disciples Experienced the Resurrection<\/span><\/h4>\n<p>Bob Seger pleas for us to revisit the Old Time Rock &#8216;n Roll, and that song moves us.\u00a0 TODAY, God invites us to revisit the &#8220;Old Time Religion&#8221; and to take the Old Resurrection Story of the shelf and allow it to rock our world and then to roll with it into resurrection power and victorious living!<\/p>\n<p>This is exactly what Jesus did in Luke 24:27 the afternoon of the first Easter, when He appeared to two of His disciples on the road to Emmaus.\u00a0 They were headed out of Jerusalem, confused and bewildered.\u00a0 But Jesus took out the &#8220;old time religion&#8221; and reminded them of what had already been revealed&#8230;<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><em><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself.<\/span> <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jesus said that He was &#8220;The Way, the TRUTH, and the Life.&#8221; (John 14:6). \u00a0\u00a0 In that conversation with His disciples, Jesus demonstrated the truth His central role in God&#8217;s plan&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\t\t\t<div class='et-tabs-container et_sliderfx_fade et_sliderauto_false et_sliderauto_speed_5000 et_slidertype_top_tabs'>\n\t\t\t\t<ul class='et-tabs-control'>\n\t\t\t<li><a href='#'>\n\t\t\tJohn 1:45\n\t\t<\/a><\/li> \n\t\t<li><a href='#'>\n\t\t\tJohn 5:39\n\t\t<\/a><\/li> \n\t\t<li><a href='#'>\n\t\t\tJohn 5:45\n\t\t<\/a><\/li> \n\t\t<li><a href='#'>\n\t\t\tActs 3:22\n\t\t<\/a><\/li>\n\t\t<\/ul> <!-- .et-tabs-control --> \n\t\t<div class='et-tabs-content'>\n\t\t\t<div class='et-tabs-content-main-wrap'>\n\t\t\t\t<div class='et-tabs-content-wrapper'>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class='et_slidecontent'>\n\t\t\tPhilip found Nathanael and told him, &#8220;We have found the one Moses wrote about in the Law, and about whom the prophets also wrote \u2014 Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.&#8221;\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t<div class='et_slidecontent'>\n\t\t\tYou diligently study the Scriptures because you think that by them you possess eternal life. These are the Scriptures that testify about me&#8230;\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t<div class='et_slidecontent'>\n\t\t\t&#8220;But do not think I will accuse you before the Father. Your accuser is Moses, on whom your hopes are set.\u00a0 If you believed Moses, you would believe me, for he wrote about me. \u00a0 But since you do not believe what he wrote, how are you going to believe what I say?&#8221;\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t<div class='et_slidecontent'>\n\t\t\tFor Moses said, &#8216;The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your own people; you must listen to everything he tells you.\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div> <!-- .et-tabs-container -->\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Come on, Come On, Now Touch Me&#8230;<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Matthew wants to stress that the &#8220;whole earth shook&#8221; on that first Easter morning.\u00a0 Everything changed.\u00a0 Even our calendars changed and they are now defined by the moment of Jesus&#8217; resurrection.<\/p>\n<p>But to be changed ourselves, we must experience the resurrection ourselves.\u00a0 In John 20 Jesus tenderly called Mary&#8217;s name and allowed her to touch him.\u00a0 In Luke 24, the disciples didn&#8217;t recognize Jesus until He broke bread with them.\u00a0 In Mark 5 a bleeding woman was healed when she simply touched Jesus.<\/p>\n<p>We must experience Jesus and His resurrection ourselves in order to understand the power of Easter.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Experience the Earthquake!<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Easter is a life changing Experience. People who Experience the Resurrection are changed forever.\u00a0 On Good Friday the world did all it could to Jesus.\u00a0 On Easter Morning, God did all He could for the world!\u00a0 And the earth shook.\u00a0 You don&#8217;t explain that- you EXPERIENCE that!\u00a0 You feel it.\u00a0 It goes right through you.<\/p>\n<div class='et-box et-info'>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class='et-box-content'><span style=\"color: #000000;\">In the 1950s there was a devastating earthquake in China.\u00a0 As a result of the earthquake, a huge boulder was dislodged from a mountain, thus exposing a great cache of wonderful artifacts from a thousand years ago.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">A new world became visible.<\/span><\/div><\/div>\n<p>When the stone was rolled away that entombed Jesus, and the earth shook, we got our first glimpse of a new world, God&#8217;s new Kingdom.\u00a0 It is a world where death doesn&#8217;t have the last word, where injustice is made right, and innocent suffering is vindicated by the intrusion of a loving and powerful God.<\/p>\n<p>But we won&#8217;t experience the resurrection empty tomb unless we allow it to change us. Unless we faithfully enter the tomb like John did, we won&#8217;t &#8220;see and believe.&#8221;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">So Peter and the other disciple started for the tomb.\u00a0 Both were running, but the other disciple outran Peter and reached the tomb first.\u00a0 He bent over and looked in at the strips of linen lying there but did not go in.\u00a0 Then Simon Peter, who was behind him, arrived and went into the tomb. He saw the strips of linen lying there,\u00a0 as well as the burial cloth that had been around Jesus&#8217; head. The cloth was folded up by itself, separate from the linen. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Finally the other disciple, who had reached the tomb first, also went inside. He saw and believed.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><span style=\"color: #808080;\">John 20:3-9<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The empty tomb announces the new covenant:\u00a0 WE CAN have all of our sins forgiven.\u00a0 We CAN live victorious.\u00a0 But we must Experience the Resurrection to feel the Resurrection Power.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #003366;\">Does the Resurrection have any effect on you at all???<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Enter, See, and Accept<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Jesus isn&#8217;t calling us to join a new religion.\u00a0 He wants to have a relationship with us!\u00a0 The Resurrection becomes useless to us if it becomes watered down by fear or secular influences. We can&#8217;t Experience the Resurrection if we see Easter as a <strong><span style=\"color: #993366;\">Holiday<\/span><\/strong> instead of a <strong><span style=\"color: #993366;\">Holy Day<\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>God wants the Resurrection to change us.<\/p>\n<p>What if Mary and her friends stayed home on that Easter morning?\u00a0 What if John and Peter didn&#8217;t rush to the tomb and look in?\u00a0 And what if we don&#8217;t accept the forgiveness that God is offering to us.<\/p>\n<div class='et-box et-shadow'>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class='et-box-content'><span style=\"color: #003300;\">During the administration of President Andrew Jackson (1829-1837), a man named George Wilson was convicted of robbing the United States mail and was sentenced to be hanged.\u00a0 Intercession was made on Wilson&#8217;s behalf, and President Jackson granted Wilson&#8217;s pardon.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #003300;\">But Wilson refused to accept it!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #003300;\">The authorities were perplexed, so they turned the problem over to Chief Justice Marshall.\u00a0 This was his conclusion:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #003300;\">&#8220;A pardon is a slip of paper, the value of which is determined by the acceptance of the person to be pardoned.\u00a0 If it is refused, it is no pardon.\u00a0 George Wilson must be hanged.<\/span><\/div><\/div>\n<p>Resurrection Power and salvation is available to all, but you&#8217;ve got to accept it.\u00a0 It might be now or never.<\/p>\n<p>Have we Experienced Easter, or do we hang on to our bunnies and chocolate eggs like a worthless presidential pardon?<\/p>\n<p>The choice is yours!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Quiz Time!<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>As you reflect on what you&#8217;ve just heard\/read, give this quiz a try.\u00a0 If you don&#8217;t understand an answer (or if you disagree with the &#8220;correct&#8221;
