United Methodist Mens Fellowship<\/span><\/h1>\n

The United Methodist Men’s Fellowship at Pitman United Methodist church isn’t a select group.\u00a0 It’s simply the men who associate themselves with our church.\u00a0 To join with us you simply need to be of the male gender and somewhere above the age of 17 years old.\u00a0 You won’t be carded; either for age or for church membership.<\/span><\/p>\n

The purpose of our group is to give the guys of the church a place to “hang out” with other guys.\u00a0 The fellowship gives us a unique opportunity to share our faith, share our doubts, ask questions, and to grow in our faith as fathers, husbands and sons.<\/span><\/p>\n

Here are some of the things we do…

Monthly<\/span> Gat<\/span>herings…<\/span><\/h3>\n

Occasionally we get together for an hour or two on a Saturday morning to study the Bible with a guest speaker.\u00a0 These gatherings usually start out with some kind of food (donuts & coffee when we meet in the morning, or pizza and things even more nutritious when we meet in the evening).\u00a0 They are a great time to chat about pressing spiritual and social issues such as the latest painting jobs, flat tire episodes, golfing escapades, sports, leaky toilets, fish stories; you know- the things that men usually do while the women are off doing other things.<\/span><\/p>\n

The gatherings then take on a deeper tone as our guest speaker begins his presentation.\u00a0 Each gathering featured a different speaker; the studies are all stand alone.\u00a0 If you’ve never attended a gathering, don’t feel that you’ll be lost if you show up all of a sudden. You’re always welcomed!<\/span><\/p>\n

Men’s Retreat…<\/span><\/h3>\n

For the past 17 years we have taken a weekend to join with a speaker and take a weekend retreat to share in food, fun and discussion over a theme that is of concern to men.<\/p>\n

We\u00a0 have been holding our retreats at the Black Rock Retreat Center <\/a>in Quarryville PA (about an hour away, down route 1).\u00a0 Black Rock offers different sleeping accommodations; anywhere from a cabin with 9 other snoring men or a motel room.\u00a0 All meals (starting with Saturday’s breakfast) are included.<\/p>\n\n\t\t
