Pastor Jim’s sermon on June 14 was from Romans 12:1-2
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
NKJV
Does the rest of the crowd wear you down? How do we keep from being worn down, despite our best efforts?
Do we have the kind of faith that can believe truth even if it means you’re against the whole world? Even if it means that your life or freedom might be threatened? Only true believers are willing to stay committed to the Truth and ways of Jesus Christ.
Many people are trying to live life with one foot in the Gospel and one in the World. Some say “I know that the Bible says, but___” We can either sell out for Christ or sell our for the world.
It’s not a problem when a boat is in the water.
The problem is when the water gets into the boat.
Christ is looking for people willing to stand up and be counted.
- Present your bodies to the Lord (continual commitment). Be there through thick and thin. Our bodies are the home of the Spirit. Be committed to God to be filled with the Holy Spirit.
- Renew our Minds. “A blank mind is the devil’s playground.” The body will go where the head tells it, so what are we filling our minds with? Fill your minds with the things of God. Read the bible. Dwell on praiseworthy things. (Click Here for some Bible reading Plans).
- Don’t be Conformed- be Transformed. Don’t be molded from the outside. Instead, be changed from the inside out. We cannot reach new heights until God does a transforming work in our lives (and in our churches).
